That’s awesome! Congratulations on a big accomplishment.

Yup, the pink elephant is on the list, and G*Force, I did figure out which one you meant. Trekkin’ was doing others up there with drhaas, and because they didn’t include virtuals in the PQ, didn’t know about that one. He looked at that stuff for sure, saw the key item, but couldn’t remember the direction.
We don’t filter anything out of our PQs. You just never know!
Thanks for those two. I recognized the Something Different from my book. Because it seemed to be private property, I didn’t think any caches would or could be there. The other one looks fun, too.
Actually, it looks kind of like Dad’s driveway, LOL.
Hey Bill, they live in Eagle River. Fondy IS someplace warm for them, LOL.
If a Haunted Wisconsin challenge were set up, it stands to reason that the cache would HAVE to be a night cache located near a famous haunting.
I know of four caches in and around the Chippewa Valley that are associated with hauntings. For that matter……we could place one right in our house. 😯

Last “visit” we know of….about two months ago.
Oh, I know which one you mean, we had it on our “to do” list when we’d planned a trip to Milwaukee last fall that went awry. Have to decide just how weird that actually is, LOL.
I’ve created a bookmark list of all the caches available right now that match up with weird stuff in “Wisconsin Curiosities” by Michael Feldman, plus a couple others.
I’ve also listed it in the bookmark wiki here, under the cache series category. Take a look and if you know of another cache located at one of these Wisconsin roadside weirdnesses, let me know. I’m still trying to find that big badger up north! LOL

Trekkin’ says, in all sincerity, that Mr. TE will *always* be the master. I think these boys limited their competition to other arenas, LOL.
I have no idea where they’re at today. If we were *truly* competitive, we’d have made far better use of our break a couple weeks ago, LOL.
I’ve thought of somehow doing Haunted Wisconsin as well. The storyteller in me, maybe. I figured the weirdness ones were more tangible, though.
Hey gotta run, one of your caches made the list, and no, I did not know about the letterbox in Poiniatowski.
What’s scaring me is how many of these caches we’ve already done. There are a couple where I was oh so close, too. If only I’d known! LOL
The southeastern part of the state seems to be lacking any weird stuff. I have one near Monches, but not much else. There are things in the book, but they are either intangibles, like weird town celebrations, or private locations that don’t lend themselves to a cache placement.
Maybe the other books will have something, but you guys over there, if you know of something cool and weird, either with or without a cache, let me know. I figure I can include “cache possiblities” like Ralph did with his unique natural features, and maybe folks will be encouraged to place some.
I *know* at some point, many years back, I was driving up toward Three Lakes on some alternate route, and I saw a huge badger. Anyone know where that is? Or maybe it was the aftereffects of too many Blue Bullets the night before. Pointer alumni will understand! 🙄
Thanks, just located it.
I did the Billytown one, too. Kind of blows a person’s mind to stand on that roadside and contemplate an entire town once there.
Marc, Can you tell me the location of that flamingo in Appleton? I’m assuming there’s a nearby cache.
And….does anyone know if there’s a cache in Poiniatowski by the 45-90 geological marker? If there isn’t, there should be!
Oh, I have lots of great bug photos, but not with my GPS. I’ll have to keep an eye peeled for the chance to do that. I do have a photo somewhere of a ginormous green caterpillar, with a ruler next to it.
I’m with Hemi. Don’t worry about it and move on. If my stats change, so be it. It’s happened before. We survived!
Ralph, I did your ALRs cause it was a great excuse for a drive along the River Road. Didn’t do it to get the easy mysteries, although I just read a log last night from someone wanting more easy ones like this. Guess he hadn’t heard the news, LOL.
It’s gonna take awhile, but yes, I thought it would be a fun counterpoint to zuma’s Unique Natural Features Challenge. Perhaps “Unique Unnatural Features” Challenge?
Once I have some idea of how many there might actually be, we can work in it. I’m trying to think of a weird spot close by where the cache could be placed. I think vtwinspin already has the big 6-pack locked up! I’ll have to decide which “weird” book is my standard, too. I have “Wisconsin Oddities,” but I also looked at “Weird Wisconsin” and “Strange Wisconsin” at the bookstore today.
GR, That’s a great way to phrase this. And TBC is right, the majority of people have no clue about any of this, anyway. On top of that, an awful lot never bother to read the cache description in the first place.
I did see a cacher near my parents’ home posting on every single ALR cache yesterday….”Is this open for grabbing per the new gs rules?” Some of these are ones for which we’d completed the requirements and were eligible to find (and I did, my last trip home). I can’t control his actions. He obviously plays the game differently than I do, and I guess that’s just fine. The world would be SO boring if we all did things the same way! We watch our numbers, but with the complete understanding that they are completely meaningless in so many ways, and it’s just for our own twisted amusement that we do so.
