I am honored to have been given this opportunity to serve our geocaching community, and like Seth said, any of those running would do a great job as well. I hope that I can meet the expectations especially of those who voted for me, but for the entire Wisconsin caching community as well.
Thanks to all of you.
You two have really been caching up a storm, or is it maybe up a trail? Anyway, big congrats on both milestones!
My parents live in Minneapolis, and in spite of being a typical subdivision of older homes, with a mall and all the other city stuff nearby, they have been enjoying a grey fox pair living in the yard the past couple of years. Dad has seen one up a tree. They appear to be denning in a huge brush pile in the far back yard.
Every visit home, I’m there just after they saw the foxes. Count yourself lucky! And thanks Jim for the “foxy” education.
Congrats on marking a big milestone on a toughie like that! Welcome to the “club.”
Congratulations, you two! What a dream wedding, too! The King and Queen of Wisconsin EarthCaching really know how to celebrate a BIG milestone in a big way!
Congratulations, that is a true accomplishment! What kind of project was completed to reach this goal? I have heard of so many interesting ones.

Congratulations on joining the millennium club. We haven’t met yet, though we’ve done a few of your caches!

Just search for anything with “Goose Island” in it. There are about 15-16 in there with Goose Island in the cache names.
We went sea kayaking there in late summer about five years ago and it was a great time. We were again up there this past October, which is spectacular. Right now, if you don’t have water access to get down by the lakeshore, you can hike around and see the sea caves, which are really worth seeing. There really aren’t any bad times, IMO. Think about what you want to experience there and choose that way. There will be more tourists in the summer, of course.
All over the Bayfield peninsula are wonderful caches in delightfully remote spots. There are still some we want to visit, notably Pratt’s Peak and Lost Falls. We tried for Pratt’s Peak last fall, but the “road” didn’t even look passable with ATVs. We’ll just plan a nice long hike next time!
Trekkin’s family still lives up that way, so we travel there fairly often. And yes, we’ve seen the Northern Lights. Fall and late summer have seemed best for that. I have to say, the most spectacular Northern Lights I’ve ever seen were in our front yard a few years ago, though. Kinda weird!
Last year it was absolutely spectacular. Not only was the front covered by a thick curtain, but a second, perpendicular “room divider” curtain had formed. I hope maybe on one of my days off to check it out prior to the event, but otherwise, it will be a new experience this year along with everyone else.
Every place in that reserve is spectacular. Worth the exercise to see…
I’m going to sound like a broken record here, but I’ll try to be a Neil Young broken record, LOL, except I’m more of a melody person and can never remember the words!
Bill, I know that along with zuma, I and probably each and every person running thanks you for your willingness to be upfront on this issue. Policing the COTM is not a job I think the WGA needs to take on, and the real issue here has come out. Thank you so much for your honesty, and also for the way you have chosen to become informed and make your choices based on that information. I hope we get a chance to meet along the trail again, and I hope I can sit and really study Vicki’s awesome pathtag bracelet. A girl has to admire jewelry, after all! 🙄
Great to meet you there. I have to do some photo stuff myself from that event. I know Anna was thrilled to have so many there.
We look forward to seeing your cache hides some day, too!
Congratulations on a big number, Gary!
Sunny Florida, sounds like a plan, LOL.
Congratulations, sounds like a mess of milestones all wrapped up in one!
