      An iPod? Tell me more!

I have the nano (4G, I think) loaded with the Stokes North American Bird Songs. I am told I can add stuff, and the bird call files only fill it about halfway.

Just thought I’d point out that our “How Hungry Are You?” challenge cache is now on the list, and it’s a FTF opportunity, too.

Rev up the engines! Difficulty is high, terrain is not….for the final, anyway! 😉

I realize one of the listed caches has been archived. If you have not found the listed one, there is a new one in the same area, called the Lair of Smaug. We’ll be changing the list to that one, once we’ve done it ourselves. If you already have Kitchen Cove, you’re good to go there!

Thanks, I finally found that thread. I was looking for “well rounded cacher” when I should have looked for “Fizzy’s Challenge.”

Dean, thanks for the oakcoins lead.

Good for you, Diane, on all your points. As new empty nesters, having seen our younger son zoom out the door a couple weeks after graduation, we know we’ll never get those memories back, and are so glad we skipped lots of different things over the years to create those memories. The day will come again to race around and get caches. For us, it’s fun to watch the numbers, but the ones we really like to see are the ones that are far and few between, those 5/5s and such. Those are the ones we seek out, and grab the others along the way.

Congrats on the MBA. Really, that’s a much bigger accomplishment. I know after agonizing for hours over Sagasu’s evil puzzle, numbers leave me bleary eyed! 😉

Will these 30 new caches be in addition to the new ones she’s replaced after archiving the old ones from last year? We haven’t been up there yet to get the new ones. Just trying to decide if we should wait a little longer, or hurry up and get the new stuff already there before it disappears!

                Dave,

They have some area cachers placing the caches. We have not been asked. Someone else who is placing some of them contacted us over the weekend, but we don’t want to just throw something out there. We try to put a bit of thought into all of ours. As we understand it, they are providing all the goods and the cachers are placing them.

That said, we’ve been planning a night cache, and if we can pull it all together, we’ll let them know that’s one that can be added. I think the folks who are the main players are really occasional cachers. They did listen to last year’s feedback and are trying to get lots of new permanent caches in the area for the event, so we want to support that effort…and find some of them!

We do want to get all the new ones up in Bjornson, but that same weekend is the LaCrosse event. I think they are really trying to do a better job with that this year and we hope to support it by playing here.

Have fun hiking those hills up there!

You’ve fixed the problem AND apologized for it. Good enough for me, I’d say you should definitely come to the picnic. That way, we can all share all the dumb things we did when we started, so you don’t have to repeat our mistakes! 😉

Seriously, your honesty is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for that!

Not a problem. People who know us know water isn’t an issue. We’ve lost track of the number of water crossings we’ve done, some of them through really ikky water. Looking forward to it!

Awesome, a new 4/5? That’s our dream cache, thanks for placing it! Look forward to seeing the listing and enjoying the hunt.

We have slowed down. Back to school now, we can’t just take off any old time now. Looks like you’ve been logging up a storm yourself, aren’t the Straits awesome? 😉

Thank you, the element of danger in caches we’ve done has made those our most memorable. In other words….we like those.

I’m always surprised at what some newer cachers will take it upon themselves to do. I’m one of those people who sits back a long time when engaged in something new, watches how the wind blows and then might speak or act.

I know this is hard to believe! But true!

That’s all I need to know. I think I have more than enough to keep me entertained up there now!

Thanks everyone, these should keep me entertained. I did one of the Flags of our Fathers, I think, or at least I have it solved.

Ralph, with the Hoist that rag, Dick won’t be along, as I’m up there for a storytelling gig. Considering that I’m often the monkey of our team, would I be able to do this one solo? Adventures are always good!
