Hi Andy,
Great to see another Coulee region cacher joining the fray. We have cleaned out everything within a 50 mile radius of the area right now, but keep your eyes peeled for local events once the weather cools down. We started a semi-regular social event called Caffiene and Caching last winter, and it’s a fun way to put names to faces.
LOL, You know, we figured you’d have been out there already yesterday. Dick still could care less about FTFs, or even plain old finds, at this point right now! He did get one yesterday after his dental appointment, but didn’t even rush to get that one.
I’m not betting the bank he’s cured of FTF-itis, however. We got one in the U.P on our way to Mackinac!
We did the Soudan Mine thing with the kids when they were very young. In fact, the youngest didn’t walk yet! It was fine once we got down there, but it’s claustrophobic in that mine shaft elevator. I experienced a similar feeling going down in a mine in south Wales. That’s quite a life. DOC., did you know there is a breed of horse that was raised to work in the mines in Wales, and they were born, lived and died down there, never seeing light? And very well treated?
Trekkin’ and Birdin’
We’ll ask Ma and Pa Ruby to open the doors near the restaurant and toss us out as they keep on caching, LOL. Or maybe they’ll decide to eat. I’ve actually seen them do it! 😉
Hoping we can get in on the fun of dinner and the WhereIGo hunt. We’re kind of dependent on our ride and when we can get there.
I can see your point! Yowza! Again, good luck.
The Czech Republic is beautiful, from what a coworker told me. If bottlyn can’t help you, could you run the listings you want to find through one of the online translation sites, like babelfish? Sometimes they come out a bit weird, but probably not as weird as trying to read them in Czech!
Good luck, hope you find the answers you need.
Not sure, but you might want to look up bottlyn’s profile and email them. They travel a lot, including to Germany, and find caches while there. Maybe they have found something? They own that Travel Bug cache over near Festival Foods, which I’m guessing you guys have found while caching over this way.
Sounds like fun. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t look for caches when I was a world traveler, cause now I’m not! Have fun.
No Colorado here, but if we find one, it’d be fun to try.
Da** deer ticks! Not lyme AGAIN???
Most of what we do is bushwhacking, which I suppose is part of the problem, but still doesn’t explain why I’m untouched and Trekkin’ is, well, “touched!”
He’s on meds now. Still a whiny-butt, but I’m sure by tomorrow he’ll start to have some energy return. If you’re old enough, remember the old Saturday Night Live skits with Jane Curtain and Gilda Radner? The “commericals’ for Puppy Uppers and Doggie Downers? Trekkin’s usual state is like to puppy who needs the downers, but right now he looks like the one who needs uppers!
We’re trying to figure out what it is about his body chemistry that draws these buggers! I go through the same terrain, pull ticks and have not been affected thus far. He sees the doctor later today. Thanks for the well wishes.

Someone has a great sense of humor, don’t you love when people take the time to tell their story….even if it’s been embellished a bit?
Hey, the bumper sticker on my car reads “Never let the truth get in the way of a good story!? Maybe this person read it! Thanks for sharing.
