Um, just the final! The rest are history, fun memories, but history! We thought about making that run this weekend, but it looks like it would make more sense to grab it on the way home from visiting Mom and Dad in the Cities sometime. We’re really starting to evaluate our travel plans and trying to combine things better.
Unless we see our chances of being one of the first 12 finishers shrinking. 🙄 It’s been a fun challenge, every one of those 12 caches has been awesome.
Trekkin’ was JUST discussing how fun it would be to develop an autorouter like that. It would never get off the ground, he works with the naughty kids and his concept of what’s okay is warped!
But we hear you on your concern, we’ve encountered a lot of the same. I realize part of the game is using your navigational skills to find places, but it does get frustrating to drive all over trying to find the access points, especially with the gas prices what they are.
Hey thanks everyone. Ralph, your goal is always the same one we have, but we have one more cache to find, and then we’ll be mighty thirsty! 😉 I have not actually seen that tree you’ve mentioned, but depending on the tree, if I feel safe, we could team on that one. I thought it was 60 feet up. 40 doesn’t sound so bad!
The beauty of meeting this goal is….Trekkin’ has *promised* that once achieved, we don’t have to chase anything in our 50 anymore, unless we choose to do so. I will hold him to that promise! Though I have to say, we do enjoy the tough terrain ones, and a clever puzzle that we can actually solve is always fun, too. We need more canoe caches down here. We’re hoping to help remedy that situation in the near future, but we’d love to have some we can find, too! Shrek and Fiona, don’t you guys have canoes? Hint hint!
If anyone wants to put out letterbox hybrids, I’ll go for them, even if Trekkin’ doesn’t. We’re trying to help increase the number of those around, too. That’s the fun of this sport, lots of variety and something for everyone.
I’d have to agree, trying to meet this goal over near Milwaukee would be frustrating. Right now, it says there are 808 caches within 50 miles of here, a bunch of which belong to us, and probably offset however many have been archived around here since we started. With rising gas prices, I was dubious about maintaining such a goal, actually!
Plans are for drhaas and Trekkin’ and Birdin’ to be traveling together. Thanks for the heads up on the traffic situation, Dean!
Hey, Been wondering if your weekend quest was successful. Inquiring minds want to know! 😉
Have fun, and enjoy the other caches over there if you haven’t already.
Again, congratulations!
Congratulations, I see you guys have caught the bug officially!
You can use the same caches to meet silver requirements. Obviously as you climb up the requirements, you’ll have to find more, but if I’m remembering, you guys may have enough for gold by now. Just gotta get a couple ECs out. There aren’t really any up your way, so hop to it.
Le Source would be a good spot to place one!Bec, I’d be glad to help, as I’m sure would others here. It’s not that tough. Email me if you need to!
Hurray! We’re looking forward to getting back over that way and grabbing up all the stuff we missed because of the bad weather. Paid off, as there are a few new earthcaches over there now, too!
Congrats!
Good luck! Which pages and counties do you have left? We still have five counties after finishing the delorme. Should have only been two, but that nasty June weather came pounding in and shortened our final run.
Congrats, that looks like a great cache for a milestone, too. So, was the beer still cold? Did you care? LOL
Congratulations, we still have five counties to go ourselves. We too were following Honeybunnies a bit yesterday. We didn’t have a “loop,” but wanted to get certain caches on our way home from the cabin, mostly near Mellen. There are some awesome caches up that way, as I’m sure you discovered on that marathon run!
We hope to get back that way and tackle this one sometime. We spent our time paddling all the fun ones (except one, now a Lonely) on the Eau Claire, but there are many more up there for paddle nuts. I guess I figured it was one where you start at waypoint 1, so I had that much figured out!
Well, we were out with the dr yesterday, and we weren’t in the car much. Biking, biking, biking the Woodville Trail.
Yep, their find rate is scary. We’ve also been noticing a couple folks who are under the radar now, because they’ve just started, but already have more caches in a couple months of caching than we had in a year!
marc, just see it as removing the pressure!
There you go! I’m laughing out loud on that one!
I still have to finish solving this stinker, but from hearing your experiences, I guess my plan of trying to get it between storytelling appearances up that way in September is probably not a good one.
Although I was hired for my Tricksters and Fools program….which might be very appropriate in this case. You can decide which one is the trickster and which the fool!
