Congratulations, it’s only fair you should get out and play, too!
Nope, no beer here! I have the old and the new printout right in front of my stone sober eyes. It looks like maybe when seldom|seen changed the D/T for Threatened|Endangered, we lost that cell. We’ll have to get some more!
At least that little mystery has been solved. Thanks!
If a person wanted to replace the caches on the cache rescue list, is that a possibility? Or would it have to be listed as a new cache and go through the regular process? Just wondering…..
We enjoy bike-caching. We did all the Omaha Trail Caches, as well as the few along the Sparta Elroy Trail last summer. We still have just a few left on the Chippewa Trail and look forward to doing those. Have done a few on the Root River bike trail in Minnesota and hear there will be many more coming soon, plus we are excited about heading up to the Woodville Trail.
So yes, we enjoy it! Our bikes are hybrids, not quite mountain bikes, but not skinny ones, either. Fuji, can’t remember the model. They have seen a lot of use. I ride the LaCrosse River Trail near home several times a week when the weather gets nice. Sadly, trying to get any number of caches along that trail has been a challenge due to the proximity of the active rail line nearby. There are only a few spots where one pulls away from the other enough to meet the guidelines.
Gusty Winds is right…I don’t like these prices any more than the next cacher, but when we were on our British honeymoon in 1980, the petrol over there came out to the equivalent of about $4/gal. We’ve had it good for a long time here. I’ve finally convinced one of my coworkers to do some carpooling, so hopefully that can offset some of our geocaching fuel miles.
OMG!!!!! Truly this man has THE touch! LOL
Congratulations to a very deserving cacher!
Congratulations on a biggie! Wasn’t it like last week you hit 1000? 😉
We could do something in Vernon County, although I know zuma has been putting out some great ones all along the River Road, too.
Happy Birthday, Seth!
I can say I was part of the very first Earth Day, way back in 1970. Unfortunately, I can’t really bike to work today, since I have a gig in Madison WI, but we live a fairly green lifestyle with the exception of the darn cars and geocaching.
I struggle with that part of this hobby every time we head out. Eat local and organic, bring your own bags, recycle, reuse, shop little, use the library instead of the bookstore, CITO, CF bulbs for years!, walk or bike in town, but this geocaching….it eats the gas!
I’ll bring a bag and do some CITO as I cache my way home (hopefully) today.
LOL, gotta agree with Cheezehead there. We’ve pretty much cleaned out everything within 55 miles of home, so any caching trip involves gas. It’s sad, isn’t it?

I’ve noticed this in Minnesota as well. As to the number of times any given feature should be, well, featured, here’s my take…..
I know that quality should rate high, and hope that the ones we’ve placed meet that standard. We surely put a lot of work into them (although really, if you don’t canoe our first one, it’s kind of a dud!), but here’s the deal….
Not all geocachers are willing to travel to the ends of the earth for an earthcache. It’s true! And each example of any given feature does have its own uniqueness, too. Especially with gas prices doing what they’ve been doing, having the option of visiting a spring near Waukesha or one over by Knapp still gives those cachers who “cache local” a chance to visit these special caches without mortgaging the ranch to finance their trips.
The virtuals we’ve visited have usually been to interesting locales, too. It’s too bad they were stopped, but that happened before our time, so I don’t know all the controversy with those.
Did that. Hopefully we can list the cache soon.
No, I recognized the LDS reference. Spock in the 1930s on Earth, with Joan Collins as Kirk’s love interest du jour.
Yeah, we saw the yellow orb while caching Adams County, too. Strange. It seems to have been a statewide phenomenon.
