We have to juggle a schedule, but we’ll be in a tent. Hey, maybe we should set up our 1750s camp! Except for me, hunting for caches in feminine period attire would be a real handicap. Four layers of full skirts? I don’t think so!
I can pretty much promise that Trekkin’ would be more than willing to show off and start campfires with flint and steel, however.
Good one, Pete! Congratulations Dave, I know we’re all wondering how long you can keep up this pace!
Hey Fu, I have three mountain dulcimers! Maybe we can start a WGA band, LOL. Create some kind of cache with a logging requirement of playing “Rock of Ages” (in honor of our least favorite kind of hide!)
Thanks everyone. And Dave, it will happen eventually. I have to figure out how a lot of those puzzles over there work first. I more or less have got a hold on Rochester MN cachers’ puzzles now, but these ones with the photos and nothing else? Scratching my head on those!
As far as the 5 star terrain—-well, not getting the paddles out until the water warms up, LOL. Maybe I could convince Trekkin’ to go whitewater rafting a bit north on the Peshtigo or Wolf if there’s a cache on it, though? Does such a thing exist?
Justin.
We’ll defer to your judgement. Our break is just after last year’s “re-opening,” so we’ll just watch for it and have a couple different options available.
Sorry to hear this, hope you heal well and quickly!
Thanks, it’s so hard to lose a pet, they really become members of the family. We got that one late at night, got really goofed up and climbed to the top of the ridge, only to slide back down through the brush….kind of like a dog would want to approach it, right? The night sky was absolutely gorgeous away from all the city lights, too.
Kira will be missed at the events. We’re so sorry for Heather’s loss.
Marc, We’ve cleaned the stinker up pretty thoroughly; my vote is for a new machine, but I’ve been overruled. Fortunately, I have been successful in my quest and my only problem now…so far…is getting the thing to show my name instead of the previous owner’s. If I can’t get it to do that, I guess as long as I can put the PQs in, I won’t complain and just channel the original owner, LOL.
Do these things take forever to shut off once the power button is pressed? I’ve been warned not to let the batteries die down.
😡 😡 😡 😡 😡
Wouldn’t it just figure? I ran my PQ over an hour ago and now that I’m ready to try and figure this thing out, it seems the PQs are jammed up or something. Cause it still hasn’t arrived in my mailbox.
This is why we still cache with paper! LOL
Edited to add: Technology hasn’t given up on me yet. I ran it again and this time it came through. And here I was so close to declaring myself a true Luddite!
Thanks, I kind of figured it was a “have to.” I re-read all the replies from my earlier questions, so I guess I’m off to the races now.
Sure hope this overloaded computer can handle it. We’ve removed just about everything we can to make space, too.
Heck, we’ll cache in almost any conditions. DOC. wasn’t too far off with her so-called comment about the “photo” posted in the thread stealers thread that she alleged was us! If Trekkin’ remembers his secret weapon, we pretty much won’t stop until it’s found. Ask Spike about the one we nabbed a couple weeks ago, LOL.
We’re going to head over toward Necedah and Coloma anyway on Sunday. Hopefully some of the snow is down. I did tell Trekkin’ we can’t cheat on the Kayak Adventures over that way, the prospect of paddling to find those this spring has kept me going all winter!
Mr. Greenthumb, Thanks for the report! Hey, there’s an idea for a seasonal forum—-cache hunting conditions by regions! I suppose people could take it upon themselves to add such logs to a sticky in each regional forum. Sort of like—-“2/28-LaCrosse Area” subject lines, so that folks wanting to head that way could see what conditions are like. I’ll go do that right now for my area and invite others to do the same.
LOL, Hey elfdoctors, just toss back her scrapbooking! As one who has gone from that obsession to this, I can say that at least geocaching is easier to share between spouses! 🙄
Congrats on a looooong commitment to the sport, Ken! Pretty cool that your first find is still active, too. Here’s to many more!
What a cool story! And what a great attitude she has! It will serve her well and here’s hoping for good healing vibes for her.
Hi sandlanders, Trekkin’ got those few near you this weekend, and passed on a lot more after, as you say, just getting worn out from the trudging through snow. We’d been up near Rice Lake the weekend before doing some awesome caches, but we had more whiffs than usual, I’m sure because of the snow depth.
Still not sure what we’ll do. I do know we’re not caching on Saturday. 😯 Going on a hike to the ice caves of the Kickapoo Valley Reserve instead. Hmm. Did somebody say “earthcache?” Maybe. We’ll see!
