Well, I don’t think anyone will get to see the story until that cache shows up on gc.com so I can log it, LOL. Maybe I can figure out how to put the photo from the hunt in here, though. Others can just take their guesses based on that! 👿

The lowest branch was still over my head. Figure it out! Something to do with geese.
And no. It was not lagrac’s doing. Trekkin’ was lending the proverbial boost. 🙄
Not quite sure what that all means, but congratulations anyway, Marc!
Congratulations on a landmark! Though we haven’t met, we did some of your caches in Hayward last weekend and hope to get back up that way to do many more.
Sorry about the Fantasy Football. Trekkin’ has been in that same exact place!
We’ve been kind of green for ages. I have also started turning off power strips for the computer. We still haven’t turned on the heat here. 🙄
Do the cloth bags, reuse instead of toss, etc. I really struggle with the hobby and the high amount of fossil fuel it requires of us, though. One of those deals where we don’t completely “walk the talk.”Oh, the other big thing we do is try to eat organic and buy local. All of our produce during the growing season came from our small farm community supported agriculture share, grown less than 50 miles from here (in the beautiful Kickapoo Valley!) Before I met Trekkin’, I was a pretty hardcore coop vegetarian, and after reading “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” a few months ago, it made me really think about how what we choose to eat has a huge impact on our environment. Food for thought! 😉
Trekkin’ has been bitten by FTF fever, but as others have said, as in an instance a couple days ago when some monkey from Rushford beat him, it was still an enjoyable afternoon drive up the river and a fun time searching. Getting the FTF is just the frosting. Actually, part of the fun is seeing what smart aleck remark that FTFer might leave for the rest of us chasers! 😉
And….he was unable to log them (even though they weren’t FTFs) for over a day, even though we weren’t on vacation or anything. Our internet service went haywire, and last night was devoted to several hours on the phone just trying to get service back.
Don’t even get me started on the continuing lack of wireless service. I guess the point is, it’s just a game, we’d hunt them anyway and sometimes circumstances prevent even the best intentions from coming through.
Whew! That’s all I have to say! 😉
A big congratulations to you (now that I can get online again, this is overdue!) I’m sure it was an entertaining hunt for all!
Congratulations Dave! And hopefully next time an event occurs in LaCrosse, you can come down here and make another milestone!
Yes, I’m replying to myself, at least that way I’m not talking to ghosts! 🙄 Anyway, just a reminder to let us know by Friday if you that you’ll be attending the meet and greet. We’re heading up behind the Iron Curtain (UP area) tomorrow and will have the laptop along, but you never know if we can find access. We’ll be back home sometime on Friday, though.
Hope to see some of you there!
Me too, I was logging today’s finds and now gc.com went crazy on me! Thanks for all the work providing us with this site. I keep discovering new things beyond the forums here all the time!
10/22/2007 at 1:09 am in reply to: Coastiegirl04 Breaks into the Thousandaire Club!!!!!!!!!!!! #1880497Congratulations to you! Hopefully one day we’ll meet along the trail and we can congratulate you personally. Course, maybe by then, you’ll be at 2k!
Congratulations, looks like we were visiting some of the same caches yesterday. Gorgeous drive, wasn’t it? Hope to meet in person some day.
We did this earthcache yesterday, and the park looks like a great camping trip. This cache, along with zuma’s new ones, were great fun and well done. The trails also look like they’d be fun cross country skiing in the winter.
We managed 28 finds. Whiffed on three, boo! We’ll be back for at least two of those on the Chip Trail. We’d hoped to get as far as Meridean on the trail, but we rode back at least 7 of the miles in darkness as it was, how nuts is that?
DOC, the areas where all the caches are located are just fine as far as water. It was a wonderful day to get out there. It did take us about 2 hours; the others maybe chose to hike more of the trails than just those needed to make the finds. We took one little side trip, too, straight up! near Nugget’s Nook. A fun (mostly) day.
That Minnesota City to Wabasha corridor is 11th letter. 2nd letter. territory. Good Luck!
Three of those five are his, but we’ve managed to find all of his we’ve sought. Just widen the search area–a lot!
We’re going to pretend it’s a work day, get up the same time, not bother with prettying up and off we go. That should have us searching those KB caches before 7am, an additional challenge, LOL.
Safe driving to you. Course, you get mostly the I, so that’s good.
