It won’t be too long before you sneak up on Timberline Echoes.
Not a chance. After all, Mr. TE has YEARS of experience with Trekkin’s dirty tricks campaigns.
And vice versa! 🙄
I know, it was barely a trickle when we were down there a couple weeks ago, but that’s not the case right now. Check out the photo galleries on the lacrosse tribune website if you haven’t already. The landscape is significantly different at the moment. How badly was BRF hit?
He and Bismarck are okay. He posted elsewhere, as mentioned. It’s really quite an unbelievable mess around here right now. People who live in this area are used to some of this flooding every spring, but this is kind of staggering.
Here’s hoping lagrac can get home soon. I would imagine Bismarck is none too happy at the moment. We own a cat, too, and can only imagine!
Brett, Thanks for checking in, glad everyone’s okay. Hey, is the road passable from here to Winona yet? We just got back from buying a new cachemobile, which we get on Wednesday. Trekkin’ figures we need to burn off the tank full of gas in the old van tomorrow! LOL
I’m suggesting Black River Falls myself. More high ground there, but we do want to do your earthcache, too.
Seth, nice beefcake there. 🙄 Does Marie know about this second career of yours?
(Photoshop—-it’s what’s happenin’!)
Congratulations indeed. How soon before you hit the big 1-000?
I’ve been following the flash flooding in the local news, and parts of Rushford MN have been evacuated. The entire town of Houston MN has been evacuated at this point. I know our friend Brett/lagrac is in Rushford, and just saw photos of the downtown underwater. Brett, hope you and Bismarck are somewhere safe. No extreme underwater caching attempts, okay? 😉
Thanks, we’ve found every single cache, mystery or otherwise, within 30 miles of there, so I think we’re safe! I also realized, after I posted this question, I could probably start at the point where we want to make the hide and head for the other one, watching to see how many feet our GPS says we’ve traveled. Course, we have to cross a small stream, not advisable in my neighborhood at this moment in time!
Thanks again!
It’s so frustrating. Our DeLorme coin, the one that was going to do the delorme for us–it even has its own gc.com profile–didn’t get very far. It got three pages, and then I noticed that the cache it was last placed into hadn’t been found in a long time. I asked someone who lived near it to check, and they think the whole cache is gone. Kind of like happened to the actual delorme final. I think you’re right, it’s a reflection of a general societal tendancy these days. Too bad.
On the other hand, another missing one did turn up again and is moving around once more. We found a coin in one of zuma’s caches we exchanged the other day that we thought was great. “Stop the Geocoin Thief!” on one side, and “Get Your Own Geocoins” on the other.
Lisa and Dennis, you guys continue to amaze me! zuma’s right, wasn’t it just a couple weeks ago we were congratulating you on 1000?
Amazing! Harry Potter couldn’t match your prowess with all his magical tools!
Thanks, all our manic caching will be coming to a screeching halt very soon, so it might take awhile longer to get the second 500. Those jobs, you know. Plus a busy fall storytelling season (read “no weekends free till October.”)
It’s sure kept us out of trouble, though! Thanks again.
Congratulations on this landmark. We’ve enjoyed a few of your caches when traveling that side of the state. In fact, I think I have one to search while I’m at Green Lake this weekend!
If we’re successful today, we’ll have 35 of the 50 needed. We’ve enjoyed all of the ones we’ve done so far, and yes, that one by lagrac is evil, evil, evil! LOL After this, the ones we still need are more northerly, like Owen/Withee. Looks like we’ll be taking some alternate routes to visit the in-laws one day! 😉
We have a pretty good idea where that final is located, having hiked those bluffs before, but each of these caches is a great one on its own, and we don’t want to miss them!
52 next year? Ai-yah! Just don’t put the final in our 50 mile radius, LOL.
So Marc, does this mean you’ll be the next finisher? I don’t see us getting there anytime soon, but we can keep picking away as we travel. I have to go to Green Lake this weekend, and I see 2-3 more pages in our future!
You guys are another example of caching machines, wow! Congratulations.
