Thanks, hopefully the stars will line up correctly for us to do this as our 500th. I really want to get out and do more canoe/kayak caches than we have so far.
Glad to hear you’re feeling better, and that it wasn’t lyme. Relief!
Another vote for a big old ammo box at the end of a nice hike in the woods or some other wild place, but we go after them all, too. The ones I *really* have learned to dislike are rock pile hides!
If they’re in our 50 mile radius, we’ll hunt ’em, though. The Merrillan Dam one is on that list. Sigh.
Thanks, that’s what we wanted! Now as to all the descriptive words, well, until we meet along the caching trail sometime, I’ll just have to take your word on them! 😉
Not us, but we’re just two people. Hope it is good for most who want to play!
Congratulations to all of you. You set the bar high for the rest of us!
You will work hard, but it will be worth it. It’s an awesome cache. Congratulations on this impressive landmark!
Trekkin’ is from northern WI, so we know bear safety and all that good stuff. My biggest concern right now is that our son likes to walk his dog back there. Course, I walked that dog back there all the time when he was in Arizona last winter, and the most I ever saw was tracks.
That’s about par for me. I never see the cool stuff.
Jay, Go to the doctor. What you just described is EXACTLY what Trekkin’ experienced. He’d perk up a bit, we’d go hit a few caches that were easier, and it would come back even harder. He was really a caching liability for about a month there! 😈
Seriously, don’t wait. Get in and assert yourself. Make sure they understand the nature of your recreational activities. Good luck.
Thanks for sharing that link. We’re planning to do those caches in the next week or so. Only Trekkin’ will be able to attend the event; Birdin’ hosts a storytelling retreat in Lansing Iowa that same weekend. 🙁
All of the caches in the Kickapoo Valley are wonderful. None of them are quickies, well maybe a couple, but they all bring you face to face with a truly unique geological treasure. We have one non-Wildcat one left to do down there, which we’ll do the same day, probably. For those heading to the picnic who are paddlers, bring your boats, too! Wish I could be there.
Not really containers large enough to sit on… Never mind. You get the idea.
Ewww! You gotta wonder about people sometimes.
Congratulations! Though we haven’t yet met, hopefully one day we will! Are you registering for wedding gifts through groundspeak? LOL
Congrats to you! It was good to meet you at the event yesterday after you scored this one, hope to cross caching trails again!
Yeah, I already tried the O and 0 thing. I’ll have to email groundspeak, I guess. Thanks for the info!
Many people never get the rash at all. Your symptoms sound like the start if it, though. Trekkin’ suffered progressively for two weeks after his first doctor visit because “it’s probably just a virus.” By the time he went in for a follow-up, it was starting to affect his cardiopulmonary system. He showed the rash that very morning, almost three weeks after the first signs.
Hope it is just a virus, those go away. If it doesn’t, have them check it again.
