That would be a very good strategy, assuming you can find it quickly. Some people found them very quickly. I think I’m dumb when it comes to that part of it!
No Lyme’s, apparently, but he was sent home from work today. Some really nasty virus, which is unusual. He never gets sick. Our lives have been pretty stressful and challenging already, and as a teacher of kids with emotional/behavioral disabilities at this point in the school year, he figures it’s just caught up with him.
Thanks for asking. Good luck with your chase, I hope you have more success than I did. I saw the coins, they’re pretty snazzy looking. Did you also see three people have already finished? 😯 I’m going to be happy if I’m done before July!
Lightning Bug’s Mom, that’s right. Once your 7th or 13th chase begins, you have that time to find the hidden spot and solve your puzzle. The fast forward will save you how ever many hours you had left until you could arrest your criminal, and it allows you to start a new chase right away.
So yes, you want to be able to look at photos. I don’t know if I am just clueless or missed my area by a hair, but I’m pretty sure I covered the area–many times! Good luck!
I’m hoping we can get that Johnny Waypoint soon, there’s a new cache with lots of space. Trekkin’ was sent home from work today, so it might be awhile!
They are cute little things, aren’t they? I’m glad you were able to be there for little Peg Leg!
If I would give myself permission to drive over to the east side of the state, I know my Wisconsin list would finally top 200. No good shorebird habitat over here AT all!
I keep thinking—hmmm, I could go to Irishfest School and improve my bodhran skills, go birding in the off hours, but Trekkin’ would not be able to come, so no geocaching. Can only kill two birds with that stone!
To make another comparison, how many geocaches would you find if you just went into a random forest and looked around for them?
Yup, depends on the “forest.” I just searched my mom and dad’s zip code with a 15 mile radius (northern Twin Cities) and came up with over 1400 caches! 😯
All together now
“Aw, isn’t he cute?” That is a great find, thanks for sharing it with us!Congrats on an incredible achievement!
I am waiting to arrest JD Bad Apple Slinger. I did a cache called “Way Back Cornfield in Chimney Rock,” which I realize isn’t helpful for those on the other side of the state, but maybe you can find a crop kind of cache over there?
I have officially given up on my chance at my fast forward. I spent at least 5-6 hours looking for the solution to my puzzle. I swear I looked at every cache in that part of Utah at least three times in the process, probably more. Some people are finding theirs in no more than 15-20 minutes! I am letting this stuff get to me, and I can’t!
I think I’m going to go after that Johnny Waypoint next! 😉 I had found one for the matchbox one, but it was up near Tomahawk, which would have been okay, since we had a graduation in Eagle River to attend. However, Trekkin’ felt too sick again yesterday. Hope we get some kind of answer today on that.
Now I think I’m going to have to hope for a location requirement on Sam.
Well, I may meet the same fate as Jay Mills. I found my spot, but my eyes are going buggy trying to solve my puzzle. Might be time to accept defeat!
Sure are a lot of cool looking caches in Utah, though.
Wow. Just wow! Congratulations!
So do you receive the puzzle as you begin your 7th chase? Cause that’s where we’ll be shortly. We are waiting to put Kim Worst in jail, then we can toss Varner in the slammer after that. We found a cache called “Way Back Cornfield in Chimney Rock.” A crop name qualifies, too.
All of the Chimney Rock caches travel through lovely little quiet country roads. Hopefully they will remain this way!
djwini, I figured out those codes last night, too. I still have a bunch to go, though. I looked at “latest activity” and those people who have earned fast forwards have found a hidden spot and solved a puzzle. I’m still puzzling over what that could even be, and if you figure THAT out, how you make it happen, LOL.
I was hoping my lizard coin would come in today’s mail but it didn’t. All this cyphering has made me lazy when it comes to making my own, LOL.
He’s got the symptoms, for sure, minus the rash. He has had these fever spikes for three days now, breaks out in a sweat, then gets chills. Joints ache, headache (but not screaming like in meningitis). He thought he was feeling better this afternoon, but crashed in the evening again. Caching tomorrow seems doubtful at this point.
Although he felt the doctor was very thorough, it was not our own family physician, who is well aware of our tendency to be out in the brush. When our younger son was a toddler, we were pretty sure he had Lyme, and called to bring him in. The nurse wouldn’t let us, she figured it was chicken pox. No way, if you’d seen this rash, you’d know that wasn’t it!
Anyway, the doctor had overheard the conversation, asked who’d called, and called us right back to bring him in. Highest titer in LaCrosse County up to that point, poor kiddo. So far, I’m the only family member who hasn’t been treated for it. I am always concerned because I have fibromyalgia, which means a normal state of aches and pains. I don’t even pay much attention to them anymore, because it’s just part of me. It’s caused me to be momentarily tricked when I had influenza, so it could do the same for lyme. Actually, my diagnosis came by default when I had gone in many years ago because I thought I had lyme. They tested for that and everything else along those lines, all of which came back negative. I had the pressure points for fibro as well.
It’s too bad we aren’t all 20 anymore, huh? 🙄
I’m still working on the decoding, but making some progress. I have five of the lines decoded now, working on the 6th.
When I read the games forum, there were a whole bunch of coded comments in the thread about fast forwards, and I copied one down that suggested it was helpful. I ordered a lizard decoder anyway that should come any day, so I’m waiting for that to do those codes.
Has everyone scrolled over the “not for public” file? Try it. There are some little tidbits in there, too.
3Hawks, sorry about the nasty weather. Never fun, especially with young kids. We had lightning strike the campsite across from ours once–fortunately that one was empty—camping in Door County. Not a fun way to end a trip!
Good luck to everyone in the posse. We aren’t sure if we’ll be able to get out and help this weekend or not, since Trekkin’ seems to fade in and out with this suspected Lymes. Sigh. The things we must endure to bring these wrongdoers to justice!
Is anyone else equally frustrated with the code part of this game? I managed to decode two of the Toadz messages in the game forum, but I’m trying to work with the first clue in the Toadz code (cause I already have that coin) and I am just beyond frustrated now.
Usually I love these kinds of things, too. Maybe because my life in general is really frustrating right now, I have no patience. This was supposed to be stress relief, not stress causing! Guess I’ll just play to the point of finding the outlaws while caching and let this part of it go.
Sigh.
