I don’t know if this was indeed a cache being hidden or not, but the description of the object seemed similar to some containers we’ve encountered.
The evening news said they had to close down a part of downtown while they checked it all out. These issues, along with those mentioned in another thread on damage to an area as a result of caching, are reminders that with our fun we have responsibility, too.
As in all of life, really.
Way to go, Eric! Uncle Dick and Gwyn add their congrats to you, but remember to only walk backwards when Mrs. TE says it’s safe!
We’re looking forward to caching with Trekkin’s brother Mr. TE this coming weekend. If you see them, ask them about the time they broke their bunk beds! 😯
Of course, they blame each other to this very day. 😉
Thanks for volunteering your time!
Congratulations! We hope to offer congrats in person at the meet and greet on Saturday, too!
Congrats from another recent inductee into the 100 Club!
I think we could do the 9th or 10th (10th might be better, there’s a family graduation that weekend), but might be gone the weekend of the 24.
We’ll do our best to be there; depends on what day.
Congratulations, you guys are amazing.
Did I hear the word “bird?” Where? When? What kind?
Congratulations to you. Lots of caches logged!
Thanks, I get it now. Funny, we just did a cemetery cache today, and as we were leaving, Trekkin’ commented on how our sons sometimes play Ghost in the Graveyard at an old country cemetery near here. My opinion was that as long as they are respectful of the monuments and plantings–and they’re playing late at night, so it’s unlikely family is visiting–that if it were *me* laying in the ground, I’d think it’s cool that kids want to visit and play there.
I know we all have differing opinions about such things. I do agree that no matter the time of day, a certain level of respect is in order.
Congratulations to all of you! We weren’t able to make the event, because Birdin’ had to get up at 4AM to do the Sandhill Crane count and knew she’d be pooped early on. But we plan to head up that way and hunt some of the caches, anyway.
Hmmm. Today? I heard a Piping Plover was seen up that way yesterday. Maybe the proverbial two birds with one stone? 😉
Congrats on a milestone!
Edited to add—I can’t remember *what* I’ve replied to these days!
Congratulations on your landmark! Keep on caching…and FTFing!
If we actually get to the location and hunt—unsuccessfully—we log them. Even “The Mighty Miss” all four times we searched.
There are a couple that we tried to reach, but ran out of time and never got out of the car. Those we don’t count. I agree, logging them is part of your caching “history.”
