Congratulations to you!
Isn’t the rule a block apart? (One-tenth mile). Six in two miles would be less than that, wouldn’t it?
We’re hoping to do that series fairly soon, hope they don’t make you move them!
There are two on the LaCrosse River Bike Trail near West Salem, and about 3 miles further east, you can easily access another one just off the trail in the Bangor Village Park. We hope to plant another one more toward the LaCrosse end of the trail, and if you’re ambitious and want to continue on and connect to the Great River Trail, I know there is one close to that that vtwinspin placed–Trappers Paradise–another one further along called Ona Trail, and one that is currently underwater, the final hide of a multi, called VanLoony.
Talking to myself. I figured out something brilliant, at least for me. Put in the first cache on gc.com, look for nearby caches and isn’t it amazing how the distance from your gz is listed on the left hand side of that page?
Not enough coffee yet, I can see!
Pam,
I was thinking about putting something at Nathan Smith’s gravestone in the Hamilton Cemetery here. I know one of the members of the cemetery board, so I was going to ask her. If you were thinking of including that one, go for it. I can give you the name of the contact person; she’s a bank president in town, so easy to find!I think cemeteries generally have governing boards, but I’m not sure how you’d track them down. I just happen to know about this one because of a connection at church.
Congrats on 100. Hope to follow in your footsteps soon!

I never said he was our answer to King Boreas, LOL. Just that he’s placed a lot of fine caches around here.
😉
Some of them are TOO hard! 😉 Just kidding. But of those that are on our DNF list, well…you win. We’ll keep at them, though. That one at the beach house is one we want to find real soon, cause based on where it’s probably located, we’ll NEVER get it once the weather gets nice!
I really thought the Northside Rules II was clever. Also, I LOVED the first stage of g’s hideaway. Loved it!
Congrats, and heck, around here that’s definitely an accomplishment, since so many caches have been placed by you! Cuts down your choices, LOL.
We’ve been at this for several months longer than you, too, and we still need 13 more. So double congrats!
I wonder how many will really keep on caching. I know around here, geocaching workshops have been presented through teacher education kinds of deals, I suppose as an idea for geography lessons. They also were offering an afternoon during an “ecofitness” series through work.
(Eco fitness is the term for going out in nature and hiking or canoeing or stuff like that. Cracked me up!)
So there may be a whole mess of folks that log a dozen finds and then never do anymore. But I know what you’re saying about trying to log on on Sundays. Since we sometimes spend our weekends doing other things– 😯 –we aren’t always contributing to the load. But I have had that maddening experience.
Zuma,
I imagine that whenever we get past the caches in our immediate area, we’ll do the same. I don’t like to do lots of random trips, anyway. Ms. “Live Green” here and all that.
However, at the rate people are planting them around here, that may never happen. There were two more new ones this morning! I think in just the past week, about 10 new ones have popped up. I finally figured out what I want to do for our first one, but still am pondering just the right spot to place it.
Oh, those are great little kid jokes, thanks!
Since Trekkin’ was away on a trekking event all weekend, this Irish lass had nowhere to go. So I literally spent most of the day pounding on my bodhran. I hope one day to play well enough to join local sessions and not be the butt of all the bodhrani jokes.
I’m not there yet. 🙄
Nope, I’ll take the ice and snow any day. ANY day. Cross country skiier and all.
As for birthdays—who needs ’em? 😯
I never thought of doing that. Hmm.
Last summer, we were up north at the family cottage belonging to the parents of Trekkin’ and Mr. Timberline Echoes (who are brothers). Anyway, our technogeek teenage nephew came running out as we pulled up and said, “Gwyn, I can take you in the boat around the lake, where I found three open WiFi spots for your laptop.”
I think I crushed the poor lad’s spirit when I said, “I didn’t bring the laptop. I come up here to get away from that stuff!”
But I can think of more than one time when I thought it would have been great to get site access and find a few more caches on the road. Have at it!
