      Well, that’s impressive, congratulations!

Good thing you ditched that Bad Mojo coin earlier. 😉

Oh, pretty! Thanks for sharing the roses, it made my day! I’ve decided I like collecting these cool little logos.

Well, except for Robin’s Bad Mojo one. Sure hope our find to search ratio goes back up now that we’ve dropped that one! 🙄

Cool way to hit a grand! Way to go, we’ll probably be rockin’ in the home before we ever reach that goal!

          Congratulations!

We just got back on, but not everything is working quite right. We didn’t have many to log, so managed that before it went down!

Those are beautiful, I think we need to get some for these caches we keep saying we’re going to place. We’re closing in on find 100, and we wanted to do one for every 100 we find, so we’d better get on it!

Yeah, that’s about how it looks around here, too. Cute doggie photo, ours wants nothing to do with the snow if she can help it. I mean, we have to shovel an area in the backyard for her to go do her business!

We went out and got a couple yesterday, but two more were whiffs due to snow issues. Oh well. We’d hoped to pick up three more along a new bike trail here by x-c skiing today, and it would have been a great day for that, but life issues intervened. I do wonder how many caches are out there buried, though. One we were trying to find seemed to be somewhere under one of the huge piles from the plow. We were looking in the little 4-H garden, but decided that all that shoving away of snow was just looking to passersby like vandalism, so we called it quits. They have a HUGE tractor tire that is probably a planter that is now visible to the world again after being buried in the snow, though.

Welcome and have fun. We enjoy discovering all the new trails and hidden parks caching takes us to.

                    Zuma,

I know what you mean, we’ve given up hope of ever having our first two pages on the site checked off. We get close and then some more pop up! And we still haven’t started planting any of ours yet.

I’m glad it’s getting folks to explore our unique Driftless area, though. Does anyone have any idea how much money big caching events can impact an area? I know the birding world gathers this kind of information, like two years ago when everyone was heading up north to see Great Grey Owls. That kind of info can be helpful when promoting hobby events becomes an issue.

Vtwinspin, we did a mess of your caches this past couple days. You’ve provided us with a lot of fun! Thanks for all your effort.

                      Hi Brett,

We’ll place a cache somewhere right before the event, but probably won’t get to play much that day. It’s the same weekend as the Northlands Storytelling Network conference in Madison. Storytelling aces caching for Birdin’, especially since this year she takes over as President-Elect. 😯

Something I still don’t quite understand how it came to pass.

It’s hard to find a time that works for everyone, thanks for all the good work getting this ball rolling for this part of WI!

Hey, We can delay gratification, LOL. There are so many new caches popping up around here, we can’t keep up.

It would help if we could be a bit more single-minded about caching, but too many competing interests at work here.

We were thinking with several caches in the country park on Neshonoc, it might be fun to place something over on the other side of the lake, at Swarthout Park. Also, there’s a nice location across the highway near the dam just begging for some attention.

I’m game, it’s just always hit or miss whether we’ll both be around on any given weekend. If we are around, we’ve been wanting to place a cache anyway, so this would be a good reason to settle on something and do it.

I know the last weekend of April is out of the question, cause that’s a big storytelling event for me. There are probably other weekends when Trekkin’ wants to go on some trek or other, but we’ll keep watching this thread.

If you come into West Salem, it can be a little tricky to find the road in if you don’t know the area. I’ll try to give some directions and hope they make sense.

If you come into town on I-90, drive all the way down the road that exits off the I toward the north. This is county road C, and will pass the library and arrive at a stop sign. Wave at our house as you sit at the stop sign to get your bearings! We’re right on the corner, yellow with blue shutters.

Anyway, go straight another block until the road ends. Turn left there, go one more block and turn right. This is Mark Street and will take you through the school campus area. Go past the schools. You’ll continue about two more blocks to an intersection called Tilson Street. Turn right at the corner. It will look like you’re driving off into nowhere, but that takes you to the south shore of Lake Neshonoc. You follow that until you come to a parking area near the dock.

These directions will also get you to the location for Neshonoc Battleship and the Neshonoc Kids Cache. If by chance you come through and see someone walking a brown and white pit bull, that would be us. She loves people but not other dogs. We “inherited” her from our so-called adult son, and when the weather’s a bit better, we love to walk down there with her.

I’m also trying to locate where the Great Horned Owls that hang out down there are nesting, so if anyone sees anything, pass it along!

Pam, We’d be interested, and it would push us to place a cache. We’ve got the containers, just no idea we can agree upon!

As for boundaries, I suppose whoever wanted to come would be in the boundaries, right?

We’d be up for something like that, too. Any ideas? We don’t have anything fancy here, but as long as people can tolerate dog hair and cat hair and some dust, we could host a warm-up party before or after. We’re easy to find.

BTW, about a week ago, before it got so nasty cold, I *think* our dog may have been onto some bear tracks down along Neshonoc County Park. She was really skittish, but because of the blowing snow, it was hard to see a good print to be sure what it was.

Whatever it was, it wasn’t as big as the reports in the news made it sound.
We tried to take that walk again today, but it’s too darn cold with the wind yet! 😡

We have plenty of caches in the area to find, but have yet to look for anything east of West Salem (unless you count some in the Oshkosh/Omro area!)

Check my post about the event in that area next weekend. We aren’t going to just geocache if we go, but I’d surely like to look for some, as long as we’re heading that way, anyway.
