And here’s :13:
Write this one down. I think I’m going to haul my butt to the neighborhood clinic tomorrow. I’ve had this head/throat/chest crud that comes and goes, and it’s still not giving up the ghost. I almost never go to the doctor. Almost never have to. Unless I slip and break my humerus geocaching. Then I kind of have to go to the doctor. Hard to believe that was almost four years ago.
Heck, the kids could solve those puzzles and as close as you are, maybe they could take a field trip to find them in the spring! Trekkin’ did a lot of stuff with one of the 7th grade teams, helping the teachers find ways to apply geocaching to several subject areas.
Time will tell, bartrod. You might be permanently on that list, so no need to keep reminding you. [;)]
I will prepare to do battle with the tree lights soon. Once that’s over, the tree thing should be more fun. I’m logging a few of the bazillion geoart finds each day. We completed the series, but now I’m taking my cue from BigJim, who lives close enough to get just a few each day after work, and logging just a few each day before doing something else. Power caching “ain’t” for us. Hopefully Trekkin’ will remember this. We did some about three years back and said…”no more.” He just like this geoart. [:D]
We have a Christmas tree! Nothing on it yet, but it’s in the house.
Usually we cut them, but it was so freaking cold and windy, it was worth the extra five bucks to get one they’d already cut. As it was, we had to stop three times on the five mile trip home to readjust it. It was tied tight, but those crosswinds across the fields can push it right over.
A :ftp: on this snowy morning!
One more before…..
Hey, I think I just mentioned you guys somewhere in a log or post or something! That’s kind of what I was getting at….we try to choose our caching destinations based on what looks like interesting things to explore…and sometimes we find other things along the way that may or may not have caches, but deserve a good look.
New Mexico is one place I’ve wanted to visit, just to see things like that. My parents were down there years back visiting other old fogies 😉 and commented that it felt so different from the landscape they knew, they could have been on the moon. One of these days.
It was very pretty this morning in the Driftless, but now it’s slopping off the branches and melting into the ground a little bit.
That is weird. I made sure to include all events to catch the CITOs, and those show on the first page of events. I went to the second to get to 2013 and came up with six and no CITOs appeared. Your link works. Maybe we’re victims of one of those occasional groundspeak “search” glitches. Thanks!
#21. It asks for the number of events held in 2013, which seems to be 6. The question asks us to subtract 8 from that number? Should it be reversed, number of events subtracted from 8?
When I took the dog for that long walk this afternoon, I saw something I’ve never seen around here….a little red squirrel. There was a large flock of juncoes and tree sparrows, but I heard an odd chirp and realized….I’ve heard those. More up north. Then I saw the darn thing. We just have the gray squirrels, or around here, they’re often black. Wonder where it wandered in from?
Jim, Thanks for that insight. I knew there had been one there in the past that was removed due to the SNA and figured the historical district had limited other placements. I’m still really interested in visiting the place. It surely does stand out from the landscape. I’m going to sort of request that be my reward for the massive park and grabbing I’ve endured. [:D] Although stopping to snap a photo of “Mater” on the main drag in Arpin was a nice perk, too. Didn’t there used to be some kind of whole foods bakery there? I remember the coop in Point carrying really good bread from Arpin. I think it was Arpin. Maybe it was Vesper. It bites getting old!
Oh, I blew that one, didn’t I?
So our son just stopped by. I guess he and his daughter were doing things all day with her little friend. When he brought her little friend back to her house, Aizy was invited to have a sleepover there. Since she was packed for a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa’s…..I’m kind of bummed!
So, one of us has enough of geoart for awhile! (Not that we don’t appreciate the major effort on the part of the creators). I went to a local holiday shopping fair at the new yoga studio in town, then discovered an open house for the new coffeehouse opening a couple doors down from there. Came home and put up our little old tabletop tree, then took the crazy dog out for some much needed exercise…about a five mile walk down by the lake and back. Trekkin’ is on the job making solves now and I’m logging our finds as I feel like it. If it were me, I’d say we’re good with this and go explore Powers Bluff instead, but that’s a disadvantage to a joint caching account I should have considered! We have a granddaughter spending the night, so I’m looking forward to making a mess in the kitchen tomorrow with her.
A belated happy birthday to you!
