I’m going to wait until things warm up and roads clear up to head to my parents. Reports of slick roads and some spin outs. This will likely mean I don’t do as much caching, but not crying in my coffee about that. Not a caching trip, anyway.
Slowly picking away at the blouse of my youth. I could probably have finished it by now, but it’s been in a bag in a box for 40 some years….why rush things?
I realized, too, that if I were to churn some butter, I could be a settler!
We haven’t had a Noonan sighting here in quite awhile.
No, wasn’t watching. Trying to solve a couple puzzles before heading to Minneapolis to help with parental medical stuff. Not having a lot of luck. Not a problem. Caching isn’t the reason for the trip, though I do hope to get one oldie while there.
Just when you thought you could find ANYTHING on the Internet…..
I went through my annual ritual of shoveling out the girl cave, but dug a bit deeper this year. There’s a box under the table that probably hadn’t been opened in 30+ years. I opened it. Among other things, I found a bag with a blouse cut out to be sewn. The bag was from a mall where I grew up that was flattened by a tornado in the early 80s.
I figured I might as well sew this thing up. The styling is pretty timeless. I remembered why I had started this project. I loved a Rive Gauche perfume commercial in which a young woman (my age when I bought the supplies) was walking through a Paris market. I was trying to copy her blouse, bohemian that I thought I was.
I cannot find that commercial or any of the print ads for it. But trying to find it was an entertaining walk down my youthful fashion years! And just what does it say about my fashion sense when I feel okay about finishing up an item I started o ear 40 years ago? 😯
Cool! Were you able to get any photos? That’s one animal that, though I’ve seen it many times, have never had the camera handy when I did.
We had a way too close for comfort encounter near the Minnesota River in the south metro a couple years back…and no camera.
We just had a hand made Valentine personally delivered by a cute little girl. Also, it looks like a snowglobe out there right now.
Which one did you share this morning on the book of faces? I did that one. But I never sign in!
Elmaro in Trempealeau. Oh well. We’re chilling off the expensive wine we bought a year ago and I have a menu planned for dinner to go with it.
Today I just made oatmeal raisin cookies.
I did not go out of the house yesterday. I was going to go to yoga, but I didn’t want to go out. I’ve been out twice today. Once for yoga, which was awesome with a live musician. And again to see Aizy dance. I tried to talk Trekkin’ into continuing up the road to the winery for music and victuals, but he didn’t want to. I might do a little birding later. Maybe. It’s actually not bad out there now.
We have a beer making kit and we still need to actually use it.
My sweater us totally, completely finished. :D. I’ll wear it to Aizy’s dance program tomorrow. She said it wouldn’t fit.
You picked a great time to head to warm place So! Safe travels.
Done that. Today was another example. We never received a magazine for January, so we called customer service for the company. Today we got a copy in an envelope PLUS the one that was never received. Must have been sitting somewhere in the PO all that time. Every day it’s something there.
I am trying to find the zen in sewing this sweater together. Those little bars can be quite difficult to find. Knitters will know of what I speak.
i needed a break. Maybe I need to go find the other kind of bar??
