Geez Gywn, Photoshop Elements 2.0? Was that from the last century? FTP by the way.
Probably. I don’t take well to new stuff. Works fine for me, why mess with success? I actually don’t do a lot of post processing, anyway….all those years doing single chance with the 4 x 5 Graphlex kind of trained me to do the work while shooting, LOL
We got the area high snowfall here in West Salem with 1.5 inches. Our son is now on his way back to Colorado Springs with a UHaul full of furniture and stuff. They’ve been “camping” in their duplex, but they did get a Christmas tree! It was nice to have both sons and a grand-daughter here for supper last night. I made a vegan Mexican dish that was pretty tasty and really easy. Said son has gone to a vegan diet. (I used to be lacto-ovo-vegetarian, so no big deal for me). (I finally relented when Trekkin’ went back to deer hunting). (Which he hasn’t done in a few years now).
Surprise visitor today from Colorado. Our son is here with a Uhaul to get their furniture to bring back to Colorado Springs. Looks like tomorrow’s weather should be a bit better for travel back for him. We had snowglobe snow earlier today and now it’s cold and windy. Trekkin’ just finished shoveling.
Color me happy….just successfully installed my Photoshop Elements 2.0 onto my new laptop….and it works!
Did you find a way to get the old solitaire games on it? I guess the stuff now is full of ads and stupid bells and whistles. I just want solitaire, spider and free cell. Is that so much to ask????
Since our computers are almost 10 years old and Windows 7 won’t be supported much longer, we got new ones for each other for Christmas. They arrived today. We have a techie friend who’ll help transfer photo and document files, but I just downloaded chrome and it synced all my stuff from the old one….just like that!
After a fortifying breakfast I’m going out to snowblow my driveway and maybe help the neighbors if I am physically able.
I’m sure those neighbors will be forever grateful. That storm was crazy, even for up there. Has everyone seen that the sea stack at Tettegouche State Park on MN’s North Shore got knocked down sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday am?
Wet here. Later I’m meeting a friend for lunch and then we’re going to a barn dance (that’s not really in a barn, but a local dance hall). My dulcimer teacher’s band is playing. I have two left feet and Betty is a long-time folk dancer, but I put up with her pokiness, so she puts up with my clumsiness. Should be a fun way to enjoy a day that’s crummy outside.
I did not see a lot of people with deer in tow this weekend . . .
We had a quick overnight run to Hurley for a family gathering this past weekend, which included travel on Hwy 173 through Meadow Valley. Tons of vehicles in there, but on the way home yesterday, we saw a total of one deer being loaded into one of them. We spotted two deer being hauled home on 39 north of Wausau.
Trekkin’ is debating if he wants to go out this year or not during muzzleloader season. Some years he does, others not. The whole CWD thing kind of has ruined it, but he’s not quite to Stage 5 of hunting yet, so….

Cool thing about the guys who authored this article….Bob Norton was one of Trekkin’s professors in counseling, and Bob Jackson was the father of a good birding friend of mine….which I did not realize until we were carpooling to a Kirtland’s Warbler event and it came up in conversation.
Today I received a phone call from a scammer who claims he was with the social security administration. He claims potential felonies and fraud have been linked recently to my SS number and I needed to get it straightened out OVER THE PHONE with them right away, or by the end of the day I would get arrested and my house and car and all my possessions would get seized. I laughed and asked him if he actually gets people to believe him with a line like that. He then told me to f%&# off. He was a bit had to understand with his Jakarta accent.
We have received that one and Trekkin’ had fun when he decided to pick up, as he did this time. He automatically says, “Hello, Mike’s Plumbing and Heating Co.” The scammer went onto his storyline and Trekkin’ says, “Hold on while I connect you to the plumbing desk, as it sounds like you’re full of sh**!” then hung up.
Everyone needs a hobby. That’s one of his many hobbies!
We had coins made over a decade ago, like maybe in 2007. Most of them still sit here in a box. It was not a good use of our cash, as pathtags suddenly became the “thing” and trading a coin for a pathtag….nope. We gave out a few to our friends and traded others for personal coins with folks we met along the way, offered up a couple as prizes and then….we just let them sit and collect dust. Pretty much a waste of a good chunk of change on our part. Live and learn!
We also wondered if it was someone making an entry mistake. Trekkin’ has communicated with one of these folks and he says he just enjoys discovering these things and offered that to us from his collected list. We said thanks but no thanks. We kind of gave up on trackables pretty early on ourselves. Now we have a couple boxes of pretty things that just sit here. Maybe I should toss them out to tempt the local crows. [:)]
Ugh, not fun on that headache…been there. Hope it eventually fades.
I suppose that’s what happened and the code gets passed around. In the scheme of life, not a biggie. I was mostly curious as to how it happens, and also why anyone wants to discover things they have never actually seen. Also, we went to that event in the past in 2013, not the future like I wrote!
Along with several other area birders, I paid my final respects to the fellow who was my birding mentor here. He will be buried with his binoculars in hand. We all chuckled at the visitation when we noticed that!
