Pretty neat!
I noticed one bug… It shows my first find to be 1/1/2000, and it appears to be calculating my find rate based off that date as well. Other than that, I like it!
I started “playing” with this tool when I saw it in March. It looks great! It does all the things I had been doing manually with Excel spreadsheets.
I too share Dave’s issue with the starting date. I thought it might be worked out in the revised version. No Luck! ~tb
I have always viewed the voting for COTM as an endorsement process and not so much as a selection process. If I have only visited one of the candidates and it is a great cache, I have no problem with endorsing it with my vote. I don’t feel that vote as favoring that cache over another on the list. If there is more than one on the list that I have enjoyed, then I must choose the one that I favor. It becomes more of a selection process at that point. The issue here is that one should feel no guilt for entering the vote without visiting each cache on the ballot.
I do take issue with cachers submitting votes for caches that they have not visited. One has no basis for endorsing a product they have not used, nor a cache they have not visited other than a nice cache page or a popular cache hider. That is not what this game is about. Votes on this basis will take others to pill bottles dropped at the roadside. If one has no knowledge of the quality of the location or the hide, one should not be telling his fellow cachers “You gotta go see this one.”
Over the past few years, we have been faced with the delema of which cache to vote for. We have solved this by voting for one and nominating the other the following month.

I think that should have been:
“Welcome to Rockridge, and good luck” 😀
This is a popular topic. Since this site is all new and the data is voluntary, we haven’t collected all the data for all our members. NATLOH2 has geocached in all 72 counties and there are more than a couple of our members that have visited 30+ states. We will just have to be patient to see what the numbers look like. It is certainly interesting, thanks DWBur for bringing it up, and thanks greyhounder for pointing us to the page. ~tb
How’s this?
It has been noted in the past that the logo may be due for a face lift. There were a couple of ideas submitted at the Feb BOD meeting. The key here is simplicity. We want it to say Geocaching in Wisconsin. Let’s see some Ideas.

I would hope that you would attend your own event. It wouldn’t say much for the event if you didn’t.

Stop in and read the ratings… add your own
(I am working on mine now).I fall into the category of cachers that wonder how 4400 posts on the gc.com forums and 320 caches found makes one an authority on how the game should be played.
Here is my take…
one plays a game for enjoyment.
if one finds temps enjoyable so be it.
if one does not find temps enjoyable don’t do them.
If temps give one heartburn, find another game.da beast will be there
I think CommanderUSN did a good job with the time he was given. He is a WGA member and started the game last fall. 80k is over the top and is probably a misquote… 8k is more like it and that would be stretching our numbers. I would say it should be more like 4-5,000. After all, there are only 300k cachers world-wide.
MB, That was very well put. I am getting rather tired of the criticism we get from outsiders. We have been listening (or more appropriately ignoring) to it for over 4 years now. One might wonder if there aren’t more important things to whine about.
We often overlook the fact that there is really no governing body here, no law, no rules… only GUIDELINES. So keep your score anyway that is meaningful to you. There is no way one can cheat. It is like “coloring outside the lines” So What?
Do it your way and enjoy the fun.

We havn’t been there to see. This is really upsetting. Nearby caches should be checked too. ~tb
