The salt dries the pads on your dog’s feet. this results in their cracking and the pain (salt in the wound.) Many dogs tolerate boots poorly. to protect their feet, rub a little vasaline into their pads before you go out. Then they can run without the boots and not suffer the effects of the salt. ~tb
Big kudos on your family addition… He’s so quiet.

Good topic folks.
Benchmarks are out
Virtuals are in
Micros are going to be disapointing,
Large caches and events are OK,
Go to San Dieago
Don’t go to Ontario
How about some BoB’sMerry Christmas and Keep on caching, T&tb

I am counting 41, with a handful that can still do it.
I think I read it in a book somewhere…
“I knew you could, I knew you could…”
or something to that effect. Big Kudos THB.

I don’t normally do this, but I am adding a late prediction here. There is one team that hit 500 in September and will hit 1k by the end of the year… care to guess who?tb
It is time to check the score

Wisconsin Geocoins are now available on eBay
We were there… Couldn’t see a thing (it was after dark!) Kudos Renee!

I have yet to try the feature. It used to be that if you downloaded a PQ of your finds, the archived caches would not be included. Has this been corrected?
It WILL return archived caches, but not multiple listings (Bonus caches or temp caches). Look for the camp-out to return only one find.
I can deal with that
We were at a geoevent early in our career, and I remember gorging on the good eats. We had been logging our finds under first initial-lastname like so many of our predacessors. That’s why I didn’t understand the comment at the next table.. That’s Trudy & the beast. I guess I didn’t mind the new handle. Trudy & I talked it over and decided to go with it. Then one of the cachers offered me a handfull of napkins and I thanked him for the new monicer. As I wiped my Chin, he confided that he had said: “that’s truly a beast.”
A couple of thoughts crossed my mind. If the logged entries are all from a single date, It would suggest an event cache; If the logged entries are accompanied by stamps, it would suggest a letterbox rather than a geocache; it may be a Navicache. Example find dates and finder names would also help, the date found by “Astro-D” or “What’s Next?” or “Taxman” are good examples that may lead to finding the owner.

I was looking right at it from no more than 2 feet away and did not see it. Then I took another look.
Good luck,
~tbI too, have noticed a change to more micro’s, and I too prefer the old ammobox. I am sure there is a proper mix that we can all live with. Too many micro’s will discourage children. too many ammoboxes will diminish the challenge at ground zero. Micro’s are much cheaper to place and easier to hide, but quickly become geotrash. Ammoboxes offer much better protection of the contents and are less likely to be carried off by the 4-legged creatures. Micro’s are less likely to be carried off by 2-legged creatures. We like to hide caches that are representative of what we like to find and our latest caches have been ammoboxes (or cammoboxes). Trudy & I recently made a try at the Yellowstone Trail series and found a large part of it is ammoboxes. I think that in more densly populated areas, there are so many muggles that it encourages placing smaller caches. Long live the ammobox cachers! ~tb
