Big kkkudos (note the triple-k)
Oh so close, I see 1089 counted now and they were with us for 10 more. Were they hiding one? Did they find one more after they left us in Slinger? Are they saving the event for our adventure this week end?
Well, our big weekend is over and we were not able to complete the series. We did find 31 of the 47 caches, but only because Geoffnsara joined us for the last 100 miles. Without their help, I don’t think we could have done as well. We were too badly beaten, bruised, bumped and exausted. They kept us going, Proped our crutches, wiped our brows and watered our parched throats. They said they wer joining in the fun, Trudy said they were along to look after the old folks and I think they were looking for the Oreos Double Stuff. In any case they did lift our spirits and made the last leg of the journey a lot more fun.
Whe found a wonderful diversity in the caches. They took us to historic buildings and trails, beautiful vista and parks, and unique locations. Amazing diversions filled each day and we loved every minute. zuma! has created a winner here. Get out and see it.
We left home at 5:30 this morning and got to the first cache (Hudson)at 11:00 am. we found six of the first eight and stopped in Chippewa Falls for the night. We plan to be back at it at sunrise, but if the rest are anything like these first few, there is little chance of us completing the series before Sunday night. The caches we have been to present a great challenge, well worth our time to pursue.
THB you can do it! at the pace you have set, you should be able to reach 1k before Christmas. You will reach 850+ by turkey time and have over a month to the end of the year. T&tb found 100+ in September and you are a lot younger than us. run bunnies, run!
You folks mid-state could give THB a hand by planting a bunch of new caches.

You got it! they have been moving like someone put the hounds out for the rabbits.
I don’t normally do this, but I am adding a late prediction here. There is one team that hit 500 in September and will hit 1k by the end of the year… care to guess who?

We have been keeping track of Wisconsin counties as we go. to determine counties, after the fact, you can load your finds into MS Streets and Trips, The maps will identify the counties for you. It will take a little work. ~tb

For those of you who are “Premium members” the link will let you create a pocket query to download the caches in a GPX file

Ah my grasshoppers, you have learned well. But, I am not through. The greatest prize of all is the bond among cachers. It is not like any others I have known.
The next greatest return is the expressions on the faces of the children when you tell them they can have 3 or 4 or 5 Oreos with double stuff.
A very wise man (Jeff Thorson) once told me: “He who dies with the most caches, wins.” But I have come to realize that one must also count Travel Bugs, Geocoins, States, Counties, and broken bones.
There is so much to this R.A.S.H. that one cannot explain in but a few terse paragraphs. Live, Love and cache! ~tb
We can’t take it any longer. We are planning to start from Hudson and work our way south over the Veteran’s Day weekend. We will be starting Friday morning and expect to reach the Illinois State line Sunday around dinner time. Meet us in Hudson if you want to be part of this great adventure. Thanks Zuma!, for the challenge.

How would it be any different if they had asked you to talk about bowling, or kite flying, etc. We all have the right to talk about the things we take an interest in; to share our experiences, our adventures. It sounds like you have been doing a wonderful job. Keep spreading that enthusiasm. ~tb
Got dial-up, will ignore
Lisa,
At this point, your best course of action is to contact the rangers at the property you would like to use. If there is no DNR/ranger office at this property, Try the next closest State park or forest. If there is no one there to help you check back here and we will see if we can’t put you in touch with the proper people. Some cachers are a bit apprehensive, but soon find what great people the DNR folks are to work with. -
