We made an attempt to retrace your path to a few less visited caches without much success. I would have enjoyed the breakfast. No luck.
tbBill,
I visited Country in the city [virtual visit] and found that you have picked up Brindel. But it does not appear on your list of found bugs. This would be a problem for the IT gurus at groundspeak. Send them a detailed message through http://geocaching.com/contact/

I don’t want to say that your idea is not workable, but it is probably best that individual cachers establish contact with the land managers when placing a cache. This gives the land manager an opportunity to see exactly where the cache is going and to assess impact on that site. Blanket authorization gives us a lot of freedome but this isn’t always in the best interest of the park. In your neighborhood, consider the differences that might be seen in Fonferek’s Glen and Pamperin Park. Seeking permission on a case to case basis provides additional advantages for the land managers as well.
~tbLingering questions and new ones too:

I am sure that the response we got then was a very general response. The parks were made available for caching to anyone who did not abuse the privilege. Now that Sue Black is in charge of MC parks, I would be interested in her input. She is very aware of our activities and might even be reading this thread.
Oh fine, now you two are two hundred ahead of us. We really need to go to work now. We will have to work as hard as you are and more to catch up.
Congratulations Folks, you continue to inspire us.

But then xxxxxxx’s t-shirts did too.
What does this refer to?
My reference was to the shakey service we got from a vendor we were so eager to support in the past. While we got the t’s they were late in delivery and the sizes were miscounted. These were issues of reliability.
Perhaps I should have welcomed Gumbosnow into our community before I be gan playing devil’s advocate. Welcome Gumbosnow. I am sure you will find that I am not always so skeptical. I am sure that your intentions are very good.
Those of us who are through our first several months have probably considered signature items and geocoins already. We, or at least Trudy & I have taken a serious look at the scale, price, purpose and projected return of such a venture and selected a more prudent route. If this is something you really want to do, go for it. But, at least take a look at a Franklin balance sheet first.

So…
Everytime I’ve asked about placing a cache in Milwaukee County Parks, I’ve gotten the don’t ask, don’t tell answer..
You have asked the wrong people about this policy. Early last year, prior to placing Red Squirrel and Diamond in the Rough, we requested explaination of Milw. Co. policy regarding geocaching. The response we got was “Milwaukee County Parks, Yours to enjoy” and explained “put the dirt back when you are done and stay away from the golf courses.” It was clear from the response that geocaching may not have been fully understood by the respondant, but we have taken it to mean that as long as we did not interfere with others activities and as long as we left no trace, the parks were open for our activities. In short, we have permission to cache in Milw. Co. Parks.
I am not aware of a city parks department. I do know that MPS holds some very nice park property and permission to cache on these lands may be granted through the School Administration offices. Other city park properties would probably be under the jurisdiction of DPW Forestry Division. Your Alderman may be able to give you more information.
Sounds like a great idea.
But then xxxxxxx’s t-shirts did too.
The issues of payment and delivery come to mind.
And, just who is gumbosnow?
He has posted two finds today and then this idea.
I think I may need more selling.

This must be why we haven’t seen much of you lately! Kodos Randy. You stir our competitive urges.

We are honored and pleased that WISearchers has chosen Diamond In The Rough for their 500th Cache.
Great Gushing Kudos, Accolades and ovations with a resounding Cheer.
Great going folks!
Thanks folks. These greetings help to keep us focused. We are pushing for 1K by the end of the year. Without your encouragement, that might have been no more than a dream. T&tb
We know this one was in the works for a long time. That has to make the achievement even sweeter. Kudos from T&tb
