We are running with a Map 76 and a Garmin 12. The Map 76 is the same as the 76S with a smaller memory, no compass and no altimeter. My Suunto compass is all the compass I need and I don’t need to recalibrate it. While our Garmin 12 is much better at holding a satelite lock under cover, the maps and huge display on the 76 are great. I have’nt had any need for more memory than we have on the 76, so it would be difficult for me to justify the extra $ to go to the 76S. Either the map 76 or the 76S will give great value for the price. Whenever I see sombody logging their X00th cache with a yellow eTrex, I wonder about all the added features we are looking for.
Done!
Brian,
Thanks for hosting this great event. Trudy & I can’t tell you how much we enjoyed the breakfast, cacheing and the campfire dinner. What happened to lunch? We only hope these old folks didn’t slow the rest of you down too much. We know it would have been nearly impossible for the two of us to get in to those caches without your 4WD and knowledge of the area. Thanks again for a wonderful time.
Did someone send an invitation to Genius Loci?
or is it…
WHO-D-WHOI heard it straight from the source – Sara of Geoffnsara. It sounds like the owl. Ask her for a demo at breakfast Saturday… nobody says it quite like Sara.
I just added a log and went to check….
COOL…..

THE STATS
These particular flatlanders are geocheeseheads on weekends. There are others, as well. It appears that Cheesehead Dave has seen fit to give them special dispensation because their homes are in Wisconsin while their houses are not. I think I can understand that.

Ken,
You might try checking with area Police departments.. http://phonebook.superpages.com/yellowpages/C-Police/S-WI/T-Lacrosse/
Other than that I might consider A UW-LaCrosse student lot.
