I recently made an attempt to obtain permission to place caches in Milwaukee County Parks. I specifically asked for current parks policy regarding geocaching. This is the response I got:

I don’t know if you are referring to metal detecting. If that is what
geocaching is then you are allowed to do that in the Milwaukee County
Parks, but if you do any type of digging you must but the soil back the
way you found it and you can not do metal detecting on the golf courses. The Milwaukee County Parks – Yours to Discover!

So there you have it!
We placed the caches.
tbBest deal on shipping – this is a rough estimate:
FedEx and UPS would be out on this deal. You migh be able to get a LTL carrier to back-haul four pallets [1-2 tons]for $1.75-2.00 per mile [best price in the 1980’s was 1.25-1.35]. From Fort Benning [900-1000 miles] you would be adding $1500-2000 to the cost of the lot. Unless you know somebody.
I guess it is a good thing that we didn’t go after all nine caches I had originally planned for the day.
tblet’s do it
Kudos!
This is a significant achievement and your geocaching friends are proud of you and share your cheer. Our wish for you is that every cache would be just as much of a joy as your 50th, your 100th, etc.
Congratulations, until we meet on the trail,

We had no intention of leading you at all….
We are going OOT. See you Sunday.
If you are referring to the most difficult to find, You Can’t be Serious is at the top of our list. If you are referring to the most physically demanding, then Pike Powder Hike and Stair-Master 2002 are the searches that drained us the most.
As long as it’s not an interrogation, questions are fine. Bring a notebook, we can give you enough to write a small essay.
Socko,
From your track record, we know we are in for a treat…
Bring them on.

I knew that, I was just checking to see if you were paying attention
Actually the beast has fat fingers, myopia and dyslexia. It’s amazing that I can communicate at all.

Set some time aside this Sunday, Trudy & I will show you and your mom a few caches locally placed that you can get started on. Don’t buy the GPS yet. Wait until you and your mom have an opportunity to see how the whole game fits together. Then you will be in a better position to make a decision on what features are important to you and how much you will want to invest.
The other contributors to this thread provide very valuable insight and I personally have great respect for their contributions. Let me know what time You would like to meet on Sunday. We’ll set up a starting location and brief itinerary. Or put together a brief list of caches you think you might like to visit.Don’t sell yourself short Lee. Of over 400 active Wisconsin geocachers, only 48 have logged 100 or more. This is an achievement you have a right to be proud of. Some of us have schedules that are too full to allow us to cache as often as others. Kudos, Lee we are all happy for you in your moment in the spotlight.
This is much better.. It worked.
~TrudyThe membership registration page still doesn’t work. Once I have entered the data and pressed the register button, it clears all the fields and returns to the top of the page. There are no error messages and my name does not appear on the membership list. ~Trudy
