I thought it would only be fitting to note what a fine job JV did in taking minutes.

Now, do you expect us to take back the things we have muttered about you?
More power to you guys!
Trudy & I would have been out there with you today, but our printer chose this week to die. [Enough… I can actually hear you groaning].
See you all at the meeting Tuesday.
tbThere is an Engeneering Data Sheet at: http://data.energizer.com/datasheets/library/rechargeables/consumer/accessories/chm4fc.pdf that has a lot of useful data including the Energizer/Union carbide Watts Numbers.
I hope this helps.
tbI like #19 [the last #3 presented by CacheCows 1/10]. the numbers are starting to confuse the beast’s spongy gray matter.
this looks great!
Ken must be on line as I am typing here.
I had thought about the blue ribbon for the page as well. After thinking it over, I agree it has merit. But, so does jvechinski’s logo. The latter gives some “brand recognition” with distinction. Perhaps the WGA logo with a blue ribbon on it and the COTM&date on the blue ribbon would be doable.. Please don’t ask me for an illustration, that is out of the scope of my talents.tb
I think I like #3 better as well. Actually, I don’t see a difference between #1&2.
Good Work, and fast, too.Constructivly, do we need the word “winner” on the top? It would look a bit cleaner without it and “winner” looks a lot like “whiner” or “weener”. I think we would get the same message across without it and not run the risk of picking up undesirable references “This month’s Wisconsin Weenie award goes to…”.

There are all kinds of people in the world and our paths will occasionally cross with the bottom dwellers. Please don’t let this experience dampen your spirit. Your paths have also crossed a dozen of those who appreciate your efforts. Yes, it is unfortunate that your cache is no longer there for the scores that might have also enjoyed the view, the hunt, the cache. And, we all feel the pain caused by those so inconsiderate [expletive deleted] who would ruin the fun for others and interfere with our efforts to clean up the trash they continue to dump on our landscape.
Cache on, and ignore the ignorant.

tbKen,
Thanks for the input. Your points are well taken.
tbLee, Ken,
Trudy & I have drafted a letter for newbies and started sending it to those we find while scanning the logs. The text of that letter follows:____________________________
Welcome to our georanks!
We noticed your recent log at [cache] and wanted to take a moment to acknowledge this important step in your life. You are now one of us. It won’t be long and the addiction will set in. You will be scouring the shelves at the Dollar Store, Wal-Mart, K-Mart and the like to find suitable treasures for the caches you are dreaming of creating. You will be gawking at the accomplishments of people like The Lil Otter and BruceS. Other symptoms of the addiction will become evident as time passes.
You may be a newbie now and feel rather inept or even stupid at times. We have all been through this. At times, I feel that newness still hasn’t left us. I still feel naïve at times. Your numbers may be low now. But, remember that if you find only one cache a day, which will be almost 400 in a year. Few of us will achieve that mark.
Again, welcome to our ranks, we are really happy you have joined us. Read about us [you too] at wi-geocaching.com ; http://www.geocaching.com ; http://www.insidecorner.com/geocaching/
Keep on caching,
Trudy & the beast_____________________________
Please feel free to use what you will from it.

Thanks Ken,
I noticed that when you had finished 300 and we had finished 200, several days passed and there were no acknowledgements coming for what was, in a way, a rather important accomplishment for each of us. I realized that if someone was going to acknowledge such accomplishments, it would have to be me. Now I am worried that I might miss one or two along the way. So, I wish someone would try to beat me to the punch with a few. I would then know that there is some kind of back-up here.
I will in turn do my part to welcome newbies as well.
Keep on caching.
tbRather than close the area to geocaching, why not open the area to paint-balling? No pun intended.
tbLee, Ken, this is a great idea! Please keep it up. I don’t recall our newbie days very well, or if we were so welcomed. But, we came into this RASH pumped by the spring JS item on 10 neat things to do with your children. Perhaps we didn’t need any more encouragement but, I am noticing a growing number of cachers that seem to loose interest after 20-30 caches. Normal? Perhaps, but encouragement can go a long way toward keeping our numbers active.

Oh, but wait! Trudy & I do not bike.. We have been looking forward to tackling this on foot. With 20+ miles, we are holding out for a long weekend with temperate climate conditions. That will probably be a few more months.
You seem concerned Ken, is there some sort of hurry?
Merry Christmas and keep on caching.
