Great article! Good job, Ken. Are reprints available?
Another great fall weekend. Fall color is at its peak in Sheboygan and Manitowoc Counties, Door County is a bit past peak but still beautiful. Cachers were out in numbers, we noticed that Ken was in Door County catching the same caches we did. And, the searchers were following us through Manitowoc County. Trudy and I managed to log 11 finds and a few NFs before we retreated to watch Packer football [please notice I did not say the Packers playing football]. Yes, We are ecstatic with their win/loss record, but….
Back to caching in the fall. Shuffling our feet through the leaves on the trail at the Old Kohler cache brought back memories as did the stroll on the beach at Kohler Kache. I regret that some of our fellow cachers chose not to take advantage of some really beautiful weather.
Cache till you drop,

this creates a curious situation. I rehid what was left of your cache. If you can locate it, I believe we could allow you to take credit for a find. To prove you have found it, all you would have to do is quote the text on the calling card we left in the cache.
Any objections can be posted here.quote:

Oh boy, what a great day for caching!! The sun was out, a nice breeze and the temperature was around fifty. Still a trifle warmer than what I like but was able to wear the leather jacket and go crashing through the thorns. No mosquitos either! I did run into a rather fun infestation of butterflies on the ”Cookin’ Cache”. It was pretty neat. Hundreds of the little yellow and white ones. By one bush I could hear them there were so many fluttering. Check that cache out if you want to take a long and easy hike. Gotta select the right paths though. This is a good one to look at the aerial photos.
We were out there in cacheland too. We didn’t see the butterflies, or deer flies, or mosquitos. I think we would have enjoyed the butterflies. At this time of year when the puff balls mature [what fun] and burrs replace mosquitos as a hiker’s nemeses every opportunity to get outdoors should be relished. Trudy and I were able to get 12 finds in. The pervious week we had 9 finds and 3 NFs. Pity the couch potatos who cannot see this.
I notices the change in format but not in performance. Maybe my PC is getting dated.
I believe we have assembled a large enough crew to get this going..
Suggestions for a date/time/location to meet will be taken at [email protected]
Ken, Cachecows, thanks for the encouragement. We are using a Garmin GPS12. It’s a good basic unit. We (I – the beast) are looking to upgrade but haven’t decided on the Garmin V or the 76S. can either of these units be connected to a PDA (Palm m130)?
Part of our groups reluctance to post details of background is due to the paranoia created by our yellow journals and their exagerated stories of the dangers of the internet. This site is open to the public. From our corner, Trudy is timid while if you give me the chance to talk (write) about myself, I will talk until the cows come home.
And, I can echo Ken’s sentiments about the rest of the group.
Ray (the beast)
We would love to have you on board for this Thraxman, Steve and Happy that cachecows is waiting for the rollout. Who else?
We have made two attempts to locate this cache. While we seem to be making some progress, we are still without a find. Trudy and I are now reserving this one for our centenial cache. What a great challenge it has been.
Congratulations lil otter..
we are all proud of you! -
