It’s so cold…
Chickens were rushing into Kentucky Fried Chicken and begging to use the pressure cooker!
I’ll bring the sunny skies!

Ultimately, each cacher has to decide for him or herself if finding the cache or solving the puzzle, or both, is what he or she feels is necessary when logging a find. For me, a find is a find. And that is, after all, the standard definition of finding a cache – find the container.
Wow. So what you are saying is that it doesn’t matter to you what the puzzle is or what the intent of the puzzle creator is, it doesn’t really matter as long as you can log the final and get it off your nearest to home list. Way to show your true colors.
I have to agree with Marc. In fact, one of the best finds on what I would consider to be one of my hardest puzzles (Signs) was a find by a real good geo-buddy who had not solved the puzzle. Oh he tried and tried but couldn’t come up with it. So, he set out to the area where he thought it might be and walked around for hours in the woods until he stumbled upon it. In my book, definitly a worthy find, and one he earned. He obviously put in as much time as anyone who has solved the puzzle.

I think its’ time to give our German friends an opportunity to log a bone fide Wisconsin find and vice versa…
Keep your eyes peeled for a new s|s globetrotter….
Can’t wait. Please post it when it’s published.
SS,
Up until recently I felt the same way you did. But the fact is, people do these things, and no matter what we say or do, they will continue to. This is a big part of the reason I started my Riddler series of caches. I figured they could cheat the puzzle, but when they got on-site, they would have a whole other puzzle to deal with. This worked great for a long time because even if it took 5 people to solve the puzzle on-site, they got to work together and still solve it. Then the caches started disappearing and being damaged by those that could not open them. The rest is history, and now too is that series.
I now find satisfaction and fulfillment knowing that even if someone short-cuts one of my puzzles, they’re getting out of it only what they put into it. If that’s good enough for them so be it. But when some day, there is a group standing together at one of my events, or any other for that matter, and we’re all talking about one of my puzzles, these will be the same people that back away, attempt to change the subject, or make a comment that blows their cover. Then I get my laugh. Not that this has ever happened of course. 😉 😀
That being said, I have short-cut a few puzzles myself when out caching with a group. But I believe that on every occasion, I’ve gone back and solved the puzzle myself. I like puzzles, what can I say?
To each his own…
…but I’m watching. 😉 😆
Congratulations!
Agreed!

I chose “I’m impartial to the new logo. I just want the whole affair to be over with. I’m tired of it.” because I am tired of the subject. However, I’m not “Impartiial”. I don’t love the new logo, but I do like it, and it’s better that the old one.
I still think the logo EnergySaver posted is the best, but the voting is over, and it wasn’t there to be voted for at the time.
This one—> <<<—Right here
I agree, the Energy Saver map of WI is better than the “cow pie” brown version. Why don’t I remember the brown state when we voted? Wasn’t it green? If we did not technically vote for the brown one either, is there anything wrong with modifying it slightly again to include the map version instead?
Don
The brown state was part of the “improvements” that were outsourced.
I tried to do something similar with my Riddler series of caches, but I had to make too many changes to get them to fit so it never looked right. I never published the final Riddler that was to explain it all.
If I ever bring the series back though, I may try it again. It’ll just take a lot more patience (myself and the reviewers) and a heck of a lot more time.
Doh!
Ya know, using this map could be a fun way to put together a series of caches. One in each part of the kingdom type of thing. Sort of like the DeLorme challenge. Then have a cool prize for the FTF all of them.
Just a thought.
I’ll just take a little chunk, the borders are easier to deffend! 😀
If the price is right, we’re in as well. Where are we going???
I haven’t looked at this thread since the first few posts, but now, seeing the map, I wanna peice! 😀
Another great experiment is watching icicles grow on your eyelashes. I did a couple hours of snow blowing this morning and my eyelashes kept freezing together! 😀
