No, but if you’re anywhere near our Good Deed Coin please bring it back with you!!!

As Dave said, I would hope this is the norm.

I think everyone does it their own way though. My routine starts at GZ. When I find the spot I want to hide my cache, I place my GPS standing straight up, on the tallest point I can reach right above the cache, and leave it there the whole time I’m planting and disguising the cache. If there is nothing to hold the GPS, then I stand there with it, holding it above my head for at least a minute, more if there is heavy cover.

My second step is to walk about 10 feet from the cache in 3 to 4 directions (sometimes more dependent on cover) and take WP’s at each location. I then average those WP’s, and then average that with the original WP I took.

First off all let be be the first to say THANK YOU for being a stand-up father. In this age when fatherhood seems to have become an option, it’s great to see MEN willing to make a difference in their child’s life.

As for caching, it’s helped me to get back into the shape I was in in High School, or at least close to it anyway. It also help to bring the family together. It’s another way to spend more quality time, but it also provides an escape on those rare occasions when I’d just like time to myself. I just wish I had more time to cache. Winter is only second to Fall as my favorite caching seasons go, and I haven’t logged a single find since winter started this year.

Now I’m going to find the time to do so.

I chose “I’m impartial to the new logo. I just want the whole affair to be over with. I’m tired of it.” because I am tired of the subject. However, I’m not “Impartiial”. I don’t love the new logo, but I do like it, and it’s better that the old one.

I still think the logo EnergySaver posted is the best, but the voting is over, and it wasn’t there to be voted for at the time.

    This one—> <<<—Right here

    1000 tthe big one, Congrats!

Wow, I’m surprised at how many of these we’ve done, and have really enjoyed, too. We really need to get over to the state parks outside Kenosha/Racine and explore what’s down there. We just seem to miss that corner in our travels.

You should get down here sometime. We do things a bit different. We use containers like vacuum cleaners, blenders and shower-heads, and I believe we have some of the best cammo around. In Kenosha/Racine, you really have to pay attention to the difficulty levels. Fear not though, we’re a helpful bunch and we have plenty of ammo box caches too.

I can handle that. Once it gets published, send me the info and I’ll take care of it.

    Greetings Conman,

I live on the far northeast side of Kenosha. Where did you plant the ache? I might be able to handle the maintenance as long as it’s not to far out.

If it does happen to be to far for me to maintain, I bet I can find a local cacher that could help.

Post here, or feel free to PM me.

All of my favorite caches were recently archived. They were my Riddler series of caches. Someone in the area though they belonged to them, and not me, so I archived them to bring the puzzles home. Each individual log could only be signed by solving a physical puzzle box or the like. I t was a reall fantastic series.

Of my existing caches, Match Head would be my favorite for to many reasons to list. My only hope is that you all enjoy it as much as I do.

    WOW! Me too!!!

I’m not sure it would be as easy or cheap to print on t-shirts and such, but this logo ROCKS!

Maybe too busy/lazy to read whole posts too? 😉 🙂 I’ve bolded the important part you want to read…

And I’ll discuss with the Board whether we want to provide new logo gifs for cache pages before the website itself is switched over. Note we will probably be changing the existing gifs to be the new logo, so cache owners will not have touch their cache pages to get the new logo.

Seriously, I’m fairly confident the old cache page banner gifs will go to the new logo, but I’m not sure when.

    😳

Sweet, but where is the new logo .gif. I can’t find it where I thought the old ones were. In fact, I can’t find the old ones. Thought they were in the wiki.

The old ones are here in the Wiki:

    http://wi-geocaching.com/modules.php?name=Wiki&pagename=Help%20Spread%20The%20Word

If someone can think of a good two or three word title (Cache Page Logos?), I’ll throw a link to this Wiki page in the Main Menu block as people seem to have a lot of trouble finding it.

in reply to: Slow cooker recipes? #1899769

This one couldn’t be more simple, and also couldn’t possible taste any better.

Toss a turkey roast in your slow cooker with a can of whole cranberries poured over the top. Let it cook 4-6 hours on low (dependent on size of roast), and serve.

For best results, use fresh unfrozen turkey, and organic cranberries.

    YUMMY!

Larger roasts and larger cookers require more cranberries. We wouldn’t want the Turkey to dry out. Also, resist the temptation of opening the lid while it’s cooking. Doing this once can dry out the turkey.

I would like to add one idea to this thread. When you post something in a WGA forum (or any other public forum), it would be good if you could avoid insults, sarcasm, inflammatory language, and accusations of incompetence, ignorance, malfeasance, or laziness against other members of the organization. For this forum to be effective, it is necessary that we all respect the opinions of those we disagree with. Remember that things put in writing will always lack the nuance that can be employed with “in person” communication. Anything you write that can be taken harshly will be taken harshly. It doesn’t matter that you meant something as a joke or were just being overly dramatic. People will take what you say literally. We are all friends here, and there is no reason be disrespectful.

Ditto, otherwise we’ll end up like GONIL. That’s not an insult, GONIL gets brutal so often, I don’t even check back there anymore unless I’m looking for info. I avoid their forums like the plague.

Bravo! Clean, professional, clear. I was always (and still am) a fan of the ‘g’ but I’m very happy with this outcome. Thanks, board and whoever else deserves it for arriving at this decision and seeing this through. Well done.

When can I start putting it on my cache pages?

This is now the official logo, so feel free to update your cache pages to replace the old logo if you wish.
