Thanks for the updated(?) info tyedye. I have to admit though, I have no idea how to get broken glass fragments out of carpeting without using a vacuum cleaner.

I inquired about cfl disposal at Home Depot yesterday, and they told me to bring them to the service desk where they dispose of them.

    Good point!

Then again, how hard is your carpet if it’ll break a cfl bulb? 😆

What about my carbon foot print I will be leaving when I drive my one little broken light bulb to the dump?

Keep it in a bag until you’re going that way. 😀

The best part about WAP, and it’s all I use it for, is that on the occasion GC.com is down, WAP is always working.

I like the upgrade. So far no problems. I also like seeing my avatar when I get to my home page.

for those unfamiliar with this, this means…………?

    WAP “Back door”

One little oops with one of these and all of that money you would have saved for the year is gone. I am seriously considering going back to incondecents.

Just goes to show how uninformed the media is.

Here is a link to the Environmental Protection Agencies (EPA) Fact Sheeton Mercury in CFL’s and how to clean them up. DO NOT USE A VACUUM as told by Channel 4!

Simple to clean up, no cost to dispose. Gotta love that sensationalism the media loves to provide.

Have tried both but it still doesn’t work. I can “save as” OK, but the graphic doesn’t show up with the JPEG suffix. That’s probably why it won’t work when I try to upload to the cache page.

I’ll try again when I can get on to geocaching.com.

You have to wrap the url address in html tags for it to appear on the page. In other words, using Buy_The_Tie’s url, it would look like this:

What you need to add is: <img src=" before the url

    and: “> after the url.

You will also need to check the box on the cache building page marked “The descriptions below are in HTML”.

If you need further assistance, PM me. I have some great and easy to use HTML editing stuff you can look through.

Any chance the words could be used in combination with “regional”?

ie “The Kenosha Area Regional WGA Campout/Picnic”

I too think there is nothing bold about the “stylized g” logo. Again, nothing against the artist, it’s just my personal opinion.

Now then, Dave’s design, the one that is similar to to the Washington logo, is very bold. Is it a copy? I dunno, shouldn’t we ask Dave?

It’s no secret that I like his design. I think it looks fantastic. I’d also guess that if we hired or found a volunteer graphic artist to “tweak” this design, we’d end up with something that maybe didn’t resemble the WA logo as much.

In the end, whichever design is chosen by the board, I’ll still be inserting it into my cache pages.

When mine speaks, my only response is, “yes ma’am”.

Ok, once in a while it’s “Blow it out your…” 😀

    another good article i read:

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/06/global_whining_vs_the_truth.html

maybe not enough facts, maybe not a consensus, maybe political, maybe pro/anti/neo/militant/commie/capitalist….i don’t know. it’s still a good read anyhow.

    hyb

redrusty, enough already. Please make your own thread.

I looked and looked for an hour to find that 98% statement, and cannot find it. It is entirely possible that I read it/saw it on an activist site, maybe even heard it from Al Gore, because that rings a bell. It’s the one thing I can’t back up, but for sure, and saying it conservatively this time, The majority of science backs my side.

You have yet to show any science for your side. You have provided nothing that comes from anywhere but an activist site. In fact, your number one person on your list of people who don’t support my position, actually states that he does in his scientific paper.

So, I ask you, where is your science? Where is your proof? Which one of our “Allies” were you speaking of, and where did you get you information.

As for questions, why have you answered none of mine?

The simple fact is that neither of us are going to change our minds, we’ll just continue to but heads. I’m actually asking you to not post your answers, because this is way out of hand, and this is not the place for this argument. If you would like to PM me with support of your opinions, please do. Don’t post them here. We have derailed my thread long enough.

Until then, I’ll continue to believe NASA, The Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change, Joint Science Academies , European Academy of Science and Arts, Network of African Science Academies, American Association for the Advancement of Science, World Meteorlogical Asscociation, American Meteorological Society, Royal meteorological Society, Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, Canadian Foundation for Climate and Atmospheric Sciences and the 181 countries and European Union that have signed the Kyoto Protocol. You can go on believing your Neoliberterians, the folks from “Moonbattery”, and the 8000 people in Smallville Vermont.

    Peace!

Not sure where that 20 (20%) came from.

US population is less than 5% of the worlds population, but we produce 25% of the polution.

Anyway, redrusty is right, back to cachin’, and back to topic, “News of the Green”.

    correction, correction…………..
    i found the neolibertarian network:

    http://incite1.blogspot.com/2005/03/neolibertarian-network.html

“The next question you might ask is, what is the Neolibertarian Network? The answer, at least as of right now, is: not much. It’s an association of thirteen likeminded blogs (so far) organized by QandO. The network serves as a central point for syndication feed aggregation, and they also plan to create a period publication.”

otherwise, the term “neolibertarian” is listed in the wiki—i hope you weren’t attempting to trust the almighty wiki……………..

Strange, this is the link they have posted on thier page: The Neolibertarian Network. Lots more than 13 likeminded blogs. Although some of the blogstarters really intrigued me. Ones titled “Propaganda Machine”, “The wright wing”, “The Right Nation” and my personal favorite… “The Neo-communist”.

In case you missed the link. It’s at the very bottom of the page you provided. There is a box marked “related sites”. In that box is a picture labled “The Neolibertarian Network”, which takes you to the link I have provided.

please take the opportunity to read this

    http://eaps.mit.edu/faculty/lindzen/153_Regulation.pdf

Again, a persons personal opinion with no scientific fact.

“Arguments based on science, news, and common sense. This site is non-partisan and non-religious based. In fact we fight the new faith based religion of global warming. Don’t keep arguing the subject, just tell them to go to GlobalWarmingHoax.com!”

Yet they’re sponsored by John McCain, Link to a clearly right-wing biased web-site and provide no scientific evidence, just personal opinion.

“This as the whole world laughs at us.”

where did this come from?????? millions, and i mean millions of people trying to get into this country (legally and otherwise) are laughing?

listen, this is still the greatest country on the planet. there’s more opportunity here than anywhere else on the planet. anywhere. granted, it’s not a perfect setup, there’s room for improvement.

the whole world laughing at us thing should give pause for reflection…..the whole world takes us very seriously…….hence our worldwide subsidy of the rest of the planet. (nearly, that is)

I agree with you 100%. We are without a doubt the greatest country on the planet. Yet with only 20% of the worlds population, we produce 25% of it’s polution. And since we are the greatest country on the planet, and have always lead the way in modern times, why are we not leading the way now?
