So you mean we have to hunt down an older version then? May be okay for this year, but could become an increasing problem in years to come.

Problem is they aren’t letting me cross BECAUSE I’m a white, anglo saxon with a husband in the states. Been coming and going happily for over a year, but suddenly they won’t let me back. I’m thinking of becoming another nationality. In Canada they let anyone from Pakistan and China in. What are the accepted races for coming into the states so I can dye my skin and change my name to accomodate them?

Just fly to Mexico, and then cross the border into the USA there. If anyone stops you, tell them you are looking for work and your in. 🙄 😀

Nevermind. I took the risk and plugged it in, and it works just fine. Even at 115200 baud rate!

Got the adapter today, but there is no install cd. So, I went to Belkins website to get a driver, and downloaded it. There is no set-up file though. Just a dat file, uninstall, system file catalog file and an info file. Did it automatically install the driver? Where can I check?

I’ve never used one of these serial to USB adapters so maybe this makes things a bit different, if so disregard.

That’s what I thought to. I went over everything and it all matches.

I’d also like to add that my Father was hit by a drunk driver 22 years ago in Pleasant Prairie lass than a mile from home. The woman that hit him was killed instantly. Their combined speed was more than 100mph. My father survived and had injuries at the time that seemed minor. This was the first time my father EVER had his seat belt on in his life. To this day he still can’t explain why he had it on. Now, he never forgets to wear it.

The point I want to make though, is that even though this accident happened 22 years ago, the after affects are still there. My father still has nightmares about the accident, and more importantly, that accident almost killed him about three years ago. Huh?

He went in for a chiropractic exam, and the doc noticed she could see my fathers belly moving to his heartbeat. She sent him to the hospital where they found an aneurysm on his aorta that had calcified to the size of a grapefruit. Thankfully they were able to repair it/ Replace it with an artificial one made of Dacron. The surgeon said that the original injury had to have taken place 15-20 years prior to this discovery, and it had to have been from a major trauma. My father was in ICU for 3 weeks, and is not the same man he was before the surgery. We almost lost him.

The moral is: Drinking and driving can cause lasting effects. Call a friend or a cab. Save a life or two.

My brother-in-law was killed in a drunk driving accident 18 years ago. The laws have not changed since then. It’s time they did.

1st strike, could have been a mistake. (BIG fine, and community service)
    Second time, you’re a dumb-ass (Mandatory 1 year sentence)
Third time, what were you thinking? (5 year mandatory sentence)
Add 5 years for every mistake after, and counseling, community service and for the full sentence of all offenses. (Paid by the offender)

Kill someone while driving drunk (20 years to start) Murder is murder, regardless of the weapon.

Very impressive. We’d be happy to get two days in a row. With an active 9 year old, there’s just never the time. 😥

As posted earlier, Peninsula State Park is Technically north of Hwy 29, but come on now you are grasping at straws to fight to keep your events south by using this as an example, where we live in Mountain, Peninsula state park is only about 65 -70 miles away as the crow flies, but ANYONE who knows what our state looks like knows that if you live north of Hwy 29 you would have to go thru Green Bay to get there, that makes the trip now 140 miles to get there, Or i guess we could swim from Marinette and make the trip shorter.

Coming from the SE (Kenosha) we’d also have to go through Green Bay. And it’s 175 miles. 😀

I was just giving ya a bunch of BS about the V8 manual conversion… that would make it too front heavy…. Got to admit, would be neat to see though!

Ah, but a Turbo wouldn’t change the ballance all that much, and WOW what fun!

I’ve tried everything with the no-name one I got on e-Bay and nothing works, so I went with another e-Bay purchase and scored a Belkin F5U109 for $10.88 including shipping. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
