OK, so maybe the problem wasn’t FireFox after all. The problem came back today again. I put the computer on stand-by while I went back to work for a few minutes. this is something I almost never do. I haven’t used the stand-by function for over a year, until yesterday. Hmmm. Two days in a row I had to use stand-by, and two days in a row that the computer froze up coming off stand-by, and two days in a row this problem occur ed.
It seems fixing the problem is as simple as leaving the computer powered down for for an hour or so. Now this is all starting to make sense. But now the question is; why is the computer freezing up after being put in stand-by?
I’m still blaming Firefox though. If I hadn’t downloaded it, I wouldn’t have used stand-by either time. 😀
I have a Dell laptop that does the same thing in standby mode. It seems like standby powers down the network adapter and it loses its connection. But when it powers up, it does not go and get another IP address from the DHCP. That is my guess as to what mine does. However since its just a laptop (low power consumption anyways) I just lock it through the screen saver. Personally, I think power saver modes and standby create more problems than what is savd by using them. Just my .02
It’s also bad on the environment. Think how much CO² is added to the atmosphere every year by computers waiting on stand-by. 😡
The prices don’t seem bad at all at DonQ. We’ve paid more for Bed&Breakfasts by a long shot.
I think we’ll be camping though. Seems a waste of money to get one of those suites when we’ll have our son with. 😉
See you all there.

GeekSquad, FireDog and gateway all thought it was either the network adapter (which said it was working fine) or the OS.
I tried all kinds of things last night with them, and other things I tried myself, to no avail.
I got stressed to the point of feeling sick, and gave up. Had a jack and coke, ok, 3 jack and cokes, and went to bed.
I woke up this morning, turned on the computer to get some info for GeekSquad, and the damn thing worked just fine.
I doon’t get it. I won’t pretend that I’ll ever get it. All I know is that whatever happen, happened immediately after installing FireFox.
I’ve uninstalled FireFoz, and don’t plan to go back, because in all this I learned something. Yes fireFox was faster, but only because it turned off my firewall. My internet is about 95% as fast as Firefox was. I turn on the the firewall and they are both just as slow. But firefox will still open that damn map of Deejay’s in seconds instead of decades.
I’m still going to by a mac next time around. Have you played with the new MacBook Air? WOW!!!!! But $1800 is a bit much for me, and I don’t need another laptop.
Anyone have a few year old mac they wanna sell? Or know of a deal out there?
Why oh why didn’t I pick up on that Woot.com deal on the Mac cube? $499 and I passed. What an a**! 😀
I’m just happy I have a working computer this morning!!!

I switched to FireFox last night, and I am impressed. It’s not only faster with that map, but with EVERYTHING else as well.
I highly recommend it the switch from IE! Oh, and it’s free!!!
I FULLY RETRACT MY PREVIOUS STATEMENT. I DO NOT, AND WILL NEVER RECOMEND FIREFOX TO ANYONE FOR ANY REASON.
Please see this thread

I have an idea for you Marc. Why not put together a trip to Kenosha for a day of Riddler Caches instead. There are 10 of them now. Some puzzles, and some not. I don’t mind if one person solves them all or you all do, because the real challenge is in the cache itself and everyone will have to participate.
I’d welcome you all, and even guide the tour if you are interested.
I knew this time would come, but one more year would have been great. I never got to see him play in person. 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥

I’m going to just assume that there is a geocache or waymark near this place:

I’d love to see/hear that, but I don’t think I’ll be in Kent any time soon. 🙁
Speaking of guitars and guitar players, Jeff Healey passed away yesterday from cancer at the young age of 41.
Good luck, get better, and quick healing to you! You can still cache, just do the wheelchair accessible ones. 😀

Well, we run IE 7 and every time I try to load the map it locks up. Oh well.
Same thing here.
Congratulations Ken!!!
I’d say it’s very safe. The wave was formed in photoshop. To freeze that ammount of water instantly would require tempuratures reaching near absolute zero.
Cool pics though!

Hey Jay, did you know that your post above contains a hint to solving the puzzle for the coords?
Hmmm. So it does. 8)
Glad you’re enjoying the series. That was number 10 BTW! I had to make it a hard one.
