I still think it may have been Hogzilla!
The guy on the front page must be hunting one of Rogheff’s caches. 😉
We just went there yesterday. It was trully a learnig experience. The exhibits were just amazing.
We brought TDSKid with, who is 9, and were not sure if he would like it, even though it was his idea to go. He was facinated the entire time. time. The exhibit is trully for everyone.
Make sure you get your tickets in advance!

anyone know of a web site or info on setting up a geo cache event at a park like how to get the word out how to organize it, plan it e.t.c. i live in the janesville area but spend many days at rock cut state park in il, due to its close proximity to my work, upon talking to my friend who owns paddle and trail a kayak /camping outfitting store and rents kayaks at the park wants me to somehow get an event planned for this summer, as i am fairly new to this but love the game, i know there are many caches already in the park. any input would be great!!!!
This sounds like a fun idea for an event. But, keep in mind that you can’t use an event to promote the kyak rental business.
I think that so far, you’ve all been concentrating on the “BS” statement I made above, instead of the real issue I wanted to know about, which is…
What are you going to do to keep politics from spreading, and ruining this sport that we all love so much?
There is a time and a place for politics, but I can see no reason why it should ever be wrapped into geocaching. This is a hobby, not a business nor a government, and so, should never be run like one.
I’m not at all saying it’s been run poorly in the past. On the contrary, I think the past boards have done a spectacular job, and have accomplished many difficult tasks, this year especially.
I understand that there are serious issues out there that need taking care of, and that there are even more unseen issues that await us all in the future. That does not mean we need to start down the path of the “dark side” 🙂 Once politics start, it’s impossible to stop. Ask George Washington. I don’t think his vision of Liberty included so much corruption.
I’m not pointing any fingers here. At any past, present of future board member. Any of you that I know and/or have met whether here in this forum or in person, I think are great people, and are honest, and hardworking and will do what is best for the WGA. I just don’t want to see that change.
My issue is not with any specific questions being asked, they are all good questions and are necessary. It just seems like last year was a friendly competition for positions, with many fun questions, and no one took it to seriously. This year seems so much more… well, serious.
Remember, this sport is supposed to be fun, and so should the elections be . I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. I know that whom ever gets elected will do what’s best for the WGA, so my votes, and I suspect many others, will be cast for those people who have not taken this election to seriously. These are the type of people I tend to trust in the most.
Again, thank you for your time.
We’d love to do another group coin!!!
The newsletter was an welcomed surprise. Great Idea.

Don’t get me wrong here, I LIKE the idea of a pollution free car. I like the idea of an electric car. Until it is as convenient (and reliable) as a gas powered vehicle, there’s no real market.
I think the parts and repairs issue is a valid one. I have a 92 Dodge Dakota. They made – what 450,857,211.5 of these things. I can’t find parts.
Where are you gonna find parts for one of these electric creatures in 10 years? True, you can save money on gas. Are you going to throw it way though?
I see your point and I raise you, your own quote. @rogheff wrote:

😉
Believe me. I’d rather be driving a Mercedes AMG55 with a v12, it’s just not practical, affordable, nor environmentally sound. Now, the new Porsche turbo, that’s another story. If you are driving that in LA, New York, Bombay, Tokyo, Beijing etc… The emissions from the tailpipe are CLEANER than the air going in the cars intake! Ferrari’s 512 is similar, but not quite that good. 😯
So I pose the question. If they can do it, why can’t we???
Thanks, that’s what I was looking for.
Go fast, turn left…
…boring!
How about an F1 League?

The problem with all of these “cars” is that my big ‘ol gas-guzzling truck would squish them like a bug.
Oh yeah, good luck on repairs in 10 years.
In 10 years, the money I’ll save on NEVER needing gas, will pay for a new car all together if it breaks!

What good is this going to be for a family of 5?
They make larger models, even a delivey type van. This is just the base model, which is perfect for my family of three to get around town.
I would just like to post a public Thank You to Roger for his staff making skills.
I am the lucky owner of Rogheff’s 200th Hide Walking stick, which I love. But about 2 weeks ago, we contacted him about making a cane for my Mother-In-Law, to replace the sterile looking aluminum one given to her by the hospital over a year ago.
Roger brought the completed cane by yesterday, and I was just amazed. It’s exactly what we asked for, and it turned out perfect. When TDSGal got home from work, she loved it as much as I did.
Most importantly, We had her Mother over for dinner last night, to present her with the new cane. She broke down in tears after seeing her favorite song (actual sheet music scrolling around the staff) burned into the cane.
She LOVES it Roger! Thank you so much!!!
Also, a big thank you for the effort you put into carving our team logo onto our walking stick. I wasn’t sure how all that detail of the Celtic pattern would turn out, but it looks great, we couldn’t be happier.
Anyone considering having Roger carve them up a staff or cane ought to jump on the chance now. Once word gets out on how nice these really are, Roger’s going to be a busy guy. 100 years from now, these things will be showing up on Antiques Roadshow!
The car I’m waiting for. MDI MiniCAT
The car goes for about 120 miles on a tank of compressed air, which is refilled using a solar powered air compressor you keep at home. Zero emissions, totally green. And yes, they are even air conditioned.
The car is expected here in the states this year. Starting price for the base 3 seater (the one in the picture) without the at home charger is $8k
