I am extremely interested if you can successfully upload geocache waypoints (as we know them, and as they come from gc.com) without any fussing around. Also, please let us know if you can successfully upload your existing waypoint libraries. I know they claim that you can upload custom POI’s, but I have a feeling that the format is different.

    Thanks,

I have the Garmin C330 dash mount GPS and can (and have) loaded all of my own caches and caches I intend to do into it. All it requires is a simple download from the Garmin website called POI Loader. I imagine this works with all Garmins, including the Nuvi series.

We had a choice to see NT or I am Legend last night and we chose the latter. AWESOME movie to say the least. Leave the kiddies at home for this one. Some people brought thier toddler age children with to see this movie. Lots of folks had to leave with them long before the movie was over.

For a change this year, we hardly got anything at all. Maybe an inch total, but the wind mostly cleard the drives and walks for us. It’s been bitter cold with wind gusts topping 50MPH though. I was just glad to not have to do any more snow removal.

    Something to consider…

My wife works just over the Illinois border in Zion. It’s a sleepy little town. Two days ago, thieves went through her parking lot and smashed the windows of every car that had a dash mounted GPSr and stole them.

Good reason to put them in the glove box before exiting the car!

    1. I can auto-route to cache with a handheld (a dash-mount would only auto route me to a street location, since it wouldn’t have caches loaded on it).

Actually, the Garmin “C” series (dash mounted) lets you upload caches directly to it. It will auto-route you right to a cache, so technically, you could use it for both.

Also, the Garmin GPSMap 60csx (handheld) can be used either way. It switches between road and trail. I believe any of the Garmin GPS’rs with an “x” in the name can do this.

I’ve seen this somewhere else recently, and the results are the same. I can see it both ways. I look, it’s to the right. I look away and back, and it’s to the left, and so on. Guess I’m middle-brained or no-brained.

You should turn him into a travel bug.

    My geo-mobile, the The Geo-Jimmy

Our other car The Geo-Turbo-Zoom-Zoom which I haven’t had the decals made for yet. This car is to new to cache with of course!

And, there was Footloose and Fancy Free which was a Moose hoof and ankle. It barely fit in an ammo can!

There may be other caches that are not on the list as well. I went through my cache listings and found 2 of my own caches that are not on the list. Both have been more than 3 months without a find.

Riddler: The Beginning A VERY easy puzzle cache, especially for a Riddler cache

    and

NEMESIS #1 Building Problems One of the easier of the NEMESIS series, and winter friendly as well.

Just bundle up to the point of sweating and you’ll be fine. You can always peel off layers.

I did a couple caches today that were amazing, and would NEVER be the same in any other season. Der Schlechte Affe Geht Deutscher! and Eye can See For Miles

I think the TB idea is a great one. Anything to get them moving is worth it.

I not only made the find in one trip, I scored it in under 5 minutes, start to finish. It’s all in the planning baby, just like the cache page reads! 8)
