Is the Coke and Menthos thisng ever going to go away. Even the Mythbusters have had three shows on it now. 😀
I have also used the copy and paste method, but I reserve it for when I’m caching in a group, so that I don’t misspell names. Most folks know what a taribel speler I is. But even when I do the copy and paste, if you look close, I change the order of the names from post to post so nobody feels any less/more important than anybody else. Unnecessary I know, but it’s who I am.
Oh, and you can add Rogheff to the list of people with very unique posts!
Where to start?
Well I have not washed “The Geo-Jimmy” for months.
It’s been so long since I’ve trail-ridden my bike that when I filled the tires to head to the 4th of July parade, they were completely empty of air.
I bought an airbrush over a year ago to take up that hobby again, but used it just the first time last week to touch up the paint on the wife’s car to trade it in.
I had an R/C nitro Monster Truck I used to race, but it sat so long. I sold it on e-Bay to further fund my caching adventures.
The good news is, I now use the Geo-Jimmy more for caching than for work. Since I aired up the tires on my mountain bike, I’ve ridden it more, and plan to use it to cache now as well. And, the airbrush I know will come in handy for cammoing some upcoming caches.
So, the moral to the story is this I guess…
…Don’t give up your old hobbies, combine them???
Our one year anniversary came in March this year. We managed about 450 finds, and almost 50 hides by our anniversary. But our best stat is the hundred or so other cachers we’ve met along the way.
With all the bad news of coins disappearing lately, I thought I’d post some good coin news for a change.
Alec’s Tribute To Space Engineers Satellite Geocoin made it back to us today after traveling 4600.9 miles. The coin is in good shape and ready to head back with him to Florida next week, and on to the Kennedy Space Center to finally reach it’s goal!!!
Thanks a bunch to roundnround we go for their extra effort in getting this coin back in time for the trip to Florida!
Welcome aboard Sue. Nice to have another new face.
I’m not entirely sure we can make the event, but if we do, we plan to camp.
I get an error message every time I attempt to log in also.
I’ve also done the .9 volt battery deal. Makes the coins quite hot, and smells a bit too.
I think we’ll be able to make this one. Are there any plans for a group campsite?
Yea! Mine finally came today.
None here yet either. 😥
I use MapSend Topo in my Magellan. I actually don’t find it useful at all in this area (SE Wisconsin) because the topography does not change enough.
I did however find it extremely useful on our recent trip to middle Wisconsin where topography changes frequently.
We’re back. A few days early due to car trouble, but we had a great trip. We stopped by Rocky Arbor while in the area, and although we could not get in the park, we could see some damage right near the gates.
Funny thing though. We didn’t stay at Mirror lake, but we did do a few caches there (gotta get around to logging those). They didn’t seem to concerned about this park, as far as the Gypsy Moths go. Everywhere we went, we saw the eggs in cocoons. They were literally everywhere we looked, but they didn’t close Mirror Lake State Park. Other than the park district needing the revenue, can anyone tell me a good reason why they don’t close Mirror Lake?
I still need a white one.
