I had an existing listing that I tried to enter the banner to. When I checked the HTML box my previously nicely formatted listing went all bonkers. I lost all my formatting work and it was one big paragraph.
Question 1: Is there a way to recover from that?
Question 2: Is there a free HTML program I can use to recreate a format? Nothing fancy, just indents and line feeds where I want them. Anything I have seen (like Word) more than quadruples the size of the file.thanks
LeeUnfortunatly there is no way to recover from this. My best advice for the future, is to make a copy of ALL of your HTML after it’s written.
I have many many caches with a lot of HTML in them. After I’ve written and published them, I copy the entire body of text and HTML, and paste it into a word document and save it on my computer. I learned this lesson the hard way, as it appears you have now too.
As for question 2, try Netscape.
I think my geo-name should be on the coin, but that’s just me. 8)
Thanks!
Uhm, that’s never happened to me… Yeah right! 😀
Where and when is it? I’d like to set my DVR as well.
Is this the code you are using? And, did you remeber to check the HTML box?

Wouldn’t it be great if there were some sort of generic web-site where we could all go and type in coordinates and see if there was a cache/mystery cache/multi-cache WP nearby?
Sure would make placing caches easier!!!
The reason there isn’t such a place to query is that, in other regions of the country, a few geocachers have tried to play “Battleship” to hone in on final coordinates for a puzzle by submitting lots of coordinates for caches to see if they are too close to the final, rather than solving the puzzle or finding the intermediate waypoints of a multi. I know that sounds sick, but it’s true.
😯 I see the point. But also say, if they are going to go through that much trouble, why not just solve the puzzle? Or better yet, ask for a hint.
I’m going for the latest date only because I’l hoping it will be cooler out. 😉

Congratulations Dave!!!
Magellans have this feature too, well at least the Meridian Color does and I assume all meridians do then too. I’ve had mice set to 100 feet sisnce I found the feature about a week after purchasing it. If i decide to use a a hint on a cache, this feature really stands out. When I get to 100 feet from a cache, the alarm goes off and displays whatever was written in the comment section of the GPS’r or in Easy GPS.
Great feature though I never thought to use it on placements. Thanks for the idea.
