Cool, I’ll watch for it. We were on back in August if I remeber correctly.

Yeah, whats up? Pluto is no longer considered a planet. It’s a Kyper Belt object or dwarf planet now. 😀

Of course I don’t agree with the scientists of the International Astronomical Union. Pluto was given planet status in 1930 when Clyde Tombaugh discovered it at the Lowel Observatory.

Once this status is given, it should not be taken away. So, I say let the cache stay too. 😉 😀 😀

I have gif’s running in the background on all of my caches right now.

There is no special coding needed to run a .gif file. Just use the standard HTML for inserting a pic in to your cache. The only difference is that the pic cannot be stored anywhere at GC.com. You must use another hosting facility.

GC.com converts .gif files into .jpg which takes away the animation of the .gif file.

There are many many GPS units available from $60 to $600 depending on the features you want. I suggest buying one that is 1. Accurate 2. Has a good compass feature 3. is waterproof 4. is shock resistant

After you buy the unit, go to http://www.geocaching.com, click the link that reads “Hide or Seek a cache” put in your zip code or home coordinates if you know them, and click search. This will bring up a listing of all caches in your immediate area. Then, go find them.

in reply to: Is this how it works? #1766086

You have figured it out yourself! You log the find in the same place you got your coordinates for the cache. Just click the link that reads “Log your visit”. You must become a member to use the listing service at http://www.geocaching.com but it is free. If it is a sport you like, which it will be as soon as you try, ask any geocacher, you should become a premium member. The Membership is $30 per year, once again, reomended, but not required.

    Good luck, and happy hunting.
