I believe it is up to the person hiding the cache, on whether or not to archive their cache. I do though see your points.

I too have noticed a surprising number of caches lately are archived. Of my current 234 finds this year, 29 of them are archived at this point. At least 4 of them didn’t last the 3 months talked about earlier. I do not know however the reason behind any of them being archived.

What I do know is that once again, it’s a free country, and everyone should feel free do do what they like as long as it is not hurting anyone else. And I hardly think archiving a cache constitutes any harm to any one.

Smile and enjoy the day, they are limited! 🙂

Give it a rest or rent a boxing ring. This is getting old. 🙄

    You can use

to start a new paragraph. This will space out sentances, pic’s and such.

I was trying to upload 10 pic’s both times it failed. I bet that’s the problem, as the first set of 5 went in no problem, as did the second set of 10. But the third set contained all high-res images, whereas the others did not.

I’ll give it another try. Thanks for your suggestion Jeremy 🙂

I like the new feature, and as lostby7 says, it’s really handy for storing your multi-cache and puzzle cache coords. I also like it for lising parking coords and such.

However. I too think that the WP naming feature is not perfect. But, I think that will change with time.

I was skeptical of the system the first time I saw/used it, but I’m glad it’s here now.

Not to disagree. Tape will give up after a time in the sun. What I believe you should do is drill four holes in the windshield and use 3″ bolts to hold the plate on.

Ahh yes, but then we would be back in the same boat with the obstructed view, and a cracked windshield. 😆 We could never drive in Minnesota again.

Welcome aboard! My family and I stumbled upon a cache the same way you did. It just took us a year to figure out what it was before we started caching. Vince Condella from Fox6 Milwaukee gets the credit for openning our eyes.

Hope to see you on the trails.

I agree, the “1” and “I” and “O” and “0” thing has got me on my own coins. Why not have the slash mark through the zero’s and the little flag part on the ones? Or just leave out the O’s and I’s all together?

in reply to: Thank you Door County #1765895

The wife and I honneymooned in Door county and have been going back about every other year sincce then. We would love to move there, but finding work in the Door is tough.

I can’t wait to cache there this fall fianlly.

If ever you find yourself planning a trip there and need a place to stay. We highly recomend “The Chanticlear” B&B in Sturgron Bay. In the summer you will need to make your reservations 12 months in advance, but fall and winter youwill only need a few months.

Also, while in Sturgeon Bay, stop by the jewelry store in “The Houle House”. This was my grandparents old house. My grandfather built this place as well as dozens of other houses in Sturgeon Bay, Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. The jewelry there is all custom made one off stuff. Expensive, but unique. the jewler there is VERY talented!

My family left the area for Kenosha back in the 1930’s. Why, I don’t know. Given the choice, Door county is a no-brainer. Maybe the depression forced them out.

Ooooooooh, then I’m in trouble! I still have the dealer plate holder on my wifes car that was installed by the dealer when we bought the car new. And, we don’t have a front plate on the car at all. It just doesn’t look good. We’ve gotten several warings on both, but the city has yet to follow up on any. Sure, one time I had to bring the car down and show them the plate on the front, but as soon as I got home, ooops, the plate fell off the front again. 8)

I honestly don’t see the point of a front plate. Have you ever been pulled over by a cop thats in front of you???
