    Yikes, this turned ugly! 😯

Dave, I think Red and white is a GREAT idea. I do like the green, but would like the red just as much or more. Green goes with caching, but red is, well like you said, our state colors.

I just coppied the red from the Badgers web page and used it to edit your new logo. It looks REALLY good!

If you go to someone wedding and say go out to the car, then come back in did you attend it twice? ❓

Uhm… No. But that would be the same wedding you would be attending twice. Kind of doesn’t apply to 10 different caches.

I see your point though. If I went to the wedding and left and came back I would not say I was there twice. But say I had 10 drinks there (whew!) I would deffinitly be counting all of them! 😆

For me it is simple. You find a cache, you log a cache.

In other words. If you took a trip outside your local caching area with a few friends and family. And lets say on that trip, you went to a new state park. You stop and spend the whole day there, hiking for miles, finding lets say 10 caches that day. Would you claim all of them, or just the first one? The answer to this question is undoubtedly the same as the answer to your question… Right?

Why oh why does it always have to be about the numbers. I know this has been said, but I’m saying it again. It would be SOOOOOO great, if the user was the only one that couls see thier totals. Relax. Enjoy the sport. Not everything has to be a competition.

I have only attended ONE event with temporary caches. I took the time to write something different about just about all of them, because I want to remeber all of them. So, I claimed all of them. I will continue to do this, and maybe someday get my way. The , it won’t matter to anyone but me.

    Just my 2 cents.

EWWWWWW! Please don’t use the flashing, blinking and rotating one! It reminds me of an overdone Christmas tree. You know the ones. Big bulbs and little ones. Multi colored lights that blink. Too much garland and fake snow.

Lets keep it simple. The logo is perfect without all the movement and flashing. I suppose it would stand out a bit more if ther was some sort of animation with it, but it would need to be simple. Maybe just put in an ammo box (inside the state) with an opening lid and a log pops out or something? I’d do it myself but I’m not that good with gif’s yet. Text I can do, pics well…

I’ve seen it profiled on the Fox6 news several times now. I can’t wait to get up there and check it out. There is a museum, aquarium and even a restaraunt inside. I just hope thier prices are better than Gander Mountain!!!

I have used Magellan’s MapSend for this before, and it works well. You MUST set the “Track Detail” to “Auto Detailed” to get a good map though.

Also, check your baud rates and make sure they match.

OK, now thats too busy! Ilike the logo Dave. I agree on leaving the “line” off the top of the “G” too. If you put that line in , the “G” will be smaller than the “W” and “A” and look funny. Great logo, but wheres the fire?

    😆

Gotta agree with you there! We broght 2 cases of water to share, and figured there would be enough for everyone. So when we started our day, we packed 3 bottles for the first leg. We came back after a late lunch (about 2:00) and the water was gone. Had to drink that NASTY water from the fountain. 😥 😆

That makes sense, although I didn’t know “Geocaching” was trademarked! Now I do.

Just curious if anyone noticed the called it a “GPS Hunt” throughout the trailer instead of Geocaching? I wonder why. 😯

OK, I like yours better. Anything with flames is my style!!! Where did you get those awesome flames? Is it a font, or something you added?

All this stuff is true, but if you don’t want to become an HTML expert, there is a much easier way (if you use Microsoft Word).

    1. Create the text for your page in Word, formatting it however you like. (One exception is spacing. HTML will insert space between paragraphs automatically, so don’t put in extra lines or you will have 3 lines between paragraphs.)
    2. Do a Save As and save as an HTML file.
    3. On the View menu, select HTML Source.
    4. Skip past all the Microsoft garbage (in green on my computer) at the beginning, scrolling until you find the token .
    5. Copy all text from down to the bottom.
    6. Paste the copied text into GC.com web page.

This works for both the short and long descriptions. You may still want to tweak it by inserting
and the like. Also, remember that you have to have any photos/picture out on the web (rather than on your private hard drive) to use them on your page.

Thanks, I’ll try that too. Now, off to do Rogheff’s new cache. 😀
