We had a great time eating pizza and geochating. The on to Minoka park for several caches and more fun. Will need to schedule another one of these.
Uncle_FunJohnny, actually I work till 6 pm that day. So I will be a little late. Some of you know my cell #, so call if you leave to go caching before I get there. I have done most in the area but would love to tag along.
Uncle_FunI’m going to try to make it.

Maybe instead of just pulling garlic mustard. We can cut out the branches with the nests in them at the next campout and fry them in a bon fire.
Wow, only a week to submit a vote. I think some of the regular daily visitors here may be assuming that most members visit this daily. I can attest that from my experience that is not the case. Folks may want to keep this in mind for further issues. If you really want input and feedback then this is much to short of a turn around. In my opinion.
Uncle_FunCheck out point beach state park.
I have my singing parrot that will be making it for it’s second campout!!
Read through the guidelines. Looks like many caches will be in forbidden areas. I am contemplating pulling all of my caches in Milwaukee County parks. They can’t run the park system as it is, now they are going to take on all of these added responsibilities. I would be surprised if there is not long delays in getting caches approved.
Uncle_FunWondering why the WGA and the Wisconsin approvers aren’t taking a little bit more aggressive position on seeking approval for placing caches. While I realize that we may not be able to create approval guidelines in addition to those of geocaching dot com. I certainly don’t see why the approvers can’t ask the simple question. “Have you sought approval from the appropriate authorities to place this cache?” and/or “Who did you get approval from?” If we want to get setting an example and creating a great place to geocache, then we need to put our money where our mouth is.
Just my honest opinion.
By the way I have nothing but respect and understanding for the WGA board and the Approvers. I appreciate your massive volunteer efforts.

I started out with a Garmin Etrex Vista. Which is the next model up from the Legend. In heavy tree cover mine was useless. I would need to find a clearing, get a bearing and then head in. There were many times when I could not get a signal.
Uncle_FunGot a little bit more information. The guidelines are done, but couldn’t get them yet. The website for Milwaukee County Parks will be updated sometime next week. Sue Black is presenting them to the County Board at the 4/5 meeting. Apparently this is just and FYI presentation to the board. It appears that the county naturalists were involved with the creation of the guidelines. We’ll have to check them out next week.

Spoke to one of the regional managers today and Sue Black is presenting the geocaching guidelines to the board next week. The website will be updated as soon as possible. She didn’t reveal any information, but I got a feeling we may not like what we get. Just a feeling that I got from the conversation. Lets hope it isn’t.
