MemberWhat has kept me from adding photos is the fact that you can’t add them on the initial log page. you have to log the cache first, then add the photo on a separate page. If it were on the initial log page, I’d be much more likely to remember to add it then waiting to do it on an entirely different screen.

MemberI didn’t change a single setting on mine and it worked.
My trip included France, Monaco, and Iceland.uws22
Memberjust scan across and zoom in on your base map and take a look next time you fire it up. I didn’t really plan ahead when we were in France, just figured I’d load them in before each city and scout the cache pages to know the general area. Turns out, I had city streets just like I do here. although mine is a Magellan…
Also, if you are in any touristy type area, it’s pretty likely there will be plenty of cache pages with both languages already in place. I found 30 caches in France, and all but 2 had English descriptions.

MemberI’ll be at one of them Sunday… just sayin’.

MemberI’ve only given 38% of them, which means only 3.8% of all caches found me have earned them. I must be stingy.

Membermy grandmother used to tat snowflake ornaments for us. each year was a different pattern, so I have a dozen or so with each representing a different year.

Membercertain BLM areas require it. The Barry Goldwater Range also requires a separate (free) permit, but many places are just open.

Memberexactly. just remember that for every person that can’t make the new weekend, there are now cachers like me who no longer have a conflict and can finally attend!
this will only be my second campout because the traditional weekend is the same weekend as the Wisconsin Lions Club state convention. the campout at Gov Dodge worked out in the same manner.uws22

MemberHave you looked at your map to see if they have it loaded? My Magellan says it’s only loaded with US/Canada, but this summer I was pleasantly surprised to see all of Europe was loaded as well. I had never zoomed in close enough to see everything was already in place.

MemberThe only reason I had the streak going as long as I did was because I wanted to find caches in each of the new places we went to in France (and other places). I haven’t found one since we got back… too busy looking for a new geomobile and officiating.
I did place a new puzzle yesterday…

MemberI have an iPhone and have used it to as my GPSr twice, basically just to test it out if ever I really needed it.
I used to get notifications when I lived in AZ and would race off to beat the snowbirds, but as of about 2 years ago, I don’t have them sent to my phone. I can access my email from my phone, but I don’t have it pop up on the screen as they arrive, I have to actually open the app and look. At first I felt like I was missing out on the new caches, even if I wasn’t running out for FTFs anymore, but now it’s a lot more fun to just take Laura out and explore a park. I still get the rare FTF if I happen to be sitting with my laptop and I’m not too busy, but it’s not a priority anymore.
