I believe the system here is working quite well, especially when I compare it to some of the sports boards I frequent that are much more heavy handed when it comes to deletion of posts, moving of posts/threads, and even banning of posters. I’m not saying that’s where things would end up, but posters are very sensitive about the actions that others may have on their posts.
Much like the UTAG board, these sports boards have a “Rules of the Road” forum that helps set the boundaries of what is acceptable and what isn’t. I think it has had a positive effect just by judging how newcomers have handled the board as opposed to newbies before that forum was created.
sadly, i was unable to attend any of the 4 events this past calendar year due to my unpredictable officiating schedule. however, now that i am “in the loop,” it’s much more under my control, and attending the WGA events shouldn’t be an issue.
By taking over the LCG Event when no one else was willing, I think it shows my willingness to participate in events and help make them a success. Besides the time relating to the organizational aspects, I’m donating multiple items for the raffle.
another new town to cache in, to, and from? of course 😀
we (brother and fiancee both cache as well) went to bristol, tn last spring for the nascar race… i had everything within 20 miles downloaded as a just in case we ended up at one, but found more than enough just by the track and downtown where we went out to eat each night. it seemed to work, because i got one of my friends on the trip hooked on it too.
less than a month until bme22 and i head to Belize and Guatemala for our honeymoon… there’s about 20 total in the 3 places we’ll be staying. probably won’t get all of them… but to find caches and virtuals at Tikal and Ambergris Caye will definitely be an experience.
this topic inspired me today… ace hardware 3/16 steel cable around a tree and my ammo boxes in higher traffic parks are now secure.

dont forget to submit the event on the WGA site so it shows up in the upper right events list 🙂
already submitted the other day… just waiting for approval.
poll will remain up until nov. 20th… vote now for your choice.
already expected that. i have a few on the list, but feel free to offer up ideas for whatever area you select.
i’ll put up a poll… but looks like the Dells have it. i just blocked off Jan 23, so save that date.
i just looked at my own list and i only have two. they are the wherigo caches in Madison. nothing against them, but i just don’t have the equipment to do them, and they are the two closest unfound caches to me. maybe someday i’ll go with someone who has the right GPSr, but for now, i just don’t care about them.
as long as it isn’t the weekend of the bristol nascar race (21st) i’m in!
no issues with it, and it really isn’t in the way. i click my vote on my homepage once i’ve logged them all for the day. not many are voted on around here (madison), but when i looked around to some of the caches i did while living in AZ both the phx and san diego areas had multiple votes. as i looked back at them, they were pretty accurate with what i would have voted them too.
you must have been asleep in july 😉

i’m willing to help out if it’s decided to be held near madison or the dells.
