I am one of the persons who will be hiding water caches and the plan right now is to hide them by boat and they will only be accessible by boat. This means that they will all be 5 terrain. We plan on hiding them so there will be no way to get to them by land.

Given the fact that there will be many cachers from out of town, and others (like us) who don’t own any form of water transpo, will there be any organized boating available, groups, rentals, etc? We’d love to attempt some of these, but a boat just isn’t in the budget these days. . . 😥

We also have Motorola Droids. We use the C:geo as a backup. It’s handy when we are in the field, and want to read additional logs, etc or check current status if we haven’t updated what’s loaded on our other Garmins. I don’t think we’d rely on it for everyday use, due to reception in remote areas, accuaracy, etc.

It also works great if we get a notification and want to try for FTF and we don’t have our Garmin handy.
