Mr GT. I think you post to the page and then have an option to attach a photo by clicking the Photo / Video
icon above where the post is written.

If you do not want to add the photo and you add the website address and then paste the URL into where you put the status/post.

Here I am doing it backwards and putting the URL of a FB picture into this post: I posted this

Oops, I forgot last night to check into this. Saw something shiny and started thinking about what you needed to use a saw, a cow, and a fish for.

Bill, I’ll get back to you later after work. Should be part of the same spot where you post but a small camera icon or an Upload File option is there too somewhere unless FB just did an update.

Again sorry for bringing up a topic that had more to do with redefining officer duties vs complete overhaul of the BOD itself.

Reviewing the 2014, 2015 BOD notes (IDK which year it was) we decided as a group to keep the set up as it is but work to share the duties of events in a more balanced way. There was a general lack support to change as much would involve either 1 or 3 yr terms to balance out to get the new system in place. No one was interested in a 3 yr term. Huge commitment and if someone wished to go a second term then there was 6 yrs put in and no one was open for that.

Dividing the group into quadrants also felt like dividing the state, leading to separatism. We did not want to get into a NWexit (okay playing on the BREXIT in the news) or whatever. Not a way we thought would be a good way to go. We just got past the “No WGA event up North” worries from pervious years by having the Fall Picnic at Pattison SP last year and mended some fences with the Up North crowd. Now we even have 2 BOD from Up North (Team Northwoods and lostcheq).

In 2016 we have a new BOD paired with a Veteran to learn the ropes for setting up events. Lack of participation and being integrated is not an issue with this current group, we have more of an issue finding enough to keep everyone busy as everyone “touches” every event. This group is full of Get ‘er Done people.

The rally cry for the current group goes kinda like this: We are “Committed and Involved” and I hear that from everyone at least once a month.

Look at the map for current BOD and see where we cover. So far, no complaints on sharing duties. We are all a part of this. Yeah, personal things have come up already in 2016 for people but we all made a decision to work through it all together and are pretty content with the set up.

As a bit of a side note but all tied into the BOD set up, in 2015 we did a couple Google Hangout meetings to trial it and now in 2016 we have BOD meetings “face to face” through Google Hangouts plus the website forums and the Facebook Messenger sessions to keep everyone plugged in. We have found these a great way to not loose touch with each other and the upcoming tasks we needed to take care of (events, coins, pathtags, merchandise).

Does the future mean we won’t change how the BOD is set up…naw, we have to remain open to the possibilities that there could be a better way but right now we do not want to change.

Jim I *bumped* this more on topic name than content. I also *bumped* the topic in a BOD thread as we have been discussing an update to the By Laws and the duties of the Officers but discussion is good as there is a lot here on the site that is valuable to the future BOD and its members.

So often the well meaning school groups bring issues with their visits. That stinks WPM caches are unique.

Used the map just the other day to put a member in touch with a radio station for a geocaching interview after they called GC HQ.

If it would be helpful, I can move these comments to a different thread so we can discuss without losing the topic here. Let me know. Planning for events occurs about 6 months in advance. Feel free to start a thread or we can do it or give us a ring…we are always available. I have spoke with many of you.

I can’t believe that no one has taken any notice of the significance of this palindrome date week. Tomorrow is the really fun date: 6-16-16… 6-1-6-1-6

Oh it was noticed as the book of Faces is plastered with the significance of the week. That an “What is your Spirit Animal” and other silly data mining “games”.

Thankfully, it is almost the weekend again. I think we are going to curtain our activities for the weekend. At my advanced age, I can no longer burn the candle at both ends.

Getting off topic here so here’s gentle reminder that this is 2016 Fall Picnic near Black River Falls, Sept. 24th. Remember this is the Picnic thread but still good stuff.

How does the BOD pick a location? Many ways and pages of discussion and conversations. Discuss started for the picnic around the annual BOD meeting and continued for weeks.

If you review the Motions you can see another location was voted down. I highly suggest Members review how the BOD works, the monies they spend and all other things by checking the Motions. Anyone wants to chat, we are all glad to do so. My email as well as all BOD are open knowledge for members and we also have a great Personal Message system here within the website. Oh yeah, reviewing our By-Laws is also valuable so we can all be held accountable.

That being said, let return to our daily scheduled conversation about how great it will be to take the WGA and you all to a new location.

WGA is best because of their members. They are the heart and soul of this association and I like that we all share our thoughts.
