Quiet day yesterday. Great condition at BRSF. Park staff were awesome and while the trails and grounds were wet, evreything was in good condition.

I also found that last yr and it super helpful. No more Download, unzip, save, upload to GPS. Just do what you did and it is there ready to download.

Something I played with in GSAK last week was “Get Geocaches”. I wanted to update an old PQ but knew there would have been Archived and new caches published since I ran it years ago.
Tried out the Get Geocaches under the Geocaching.com Access on the top bar. Instead of going to gc.com, finding a cache near where I wanted and then run my PQ off of that I clicked on the map that opened, clicked where I wanted the center of caches to be using the cords…BAM. 2800 caches.
Got much more than I wanted but it was perfect for the 1st time using it. I didn’t know where I was going to end up while in Indiana so I had many choices. I can probably improve on how I use this the next time it is ran but I was surprised at how well it worked.

Lil Otter,we would really like to have to come to one of our events and talk about the early days of caching and how you traveled the state placing caches. Would you be able to attend our picnic at Black River State Forest on the 24th?

HI. Good question. Wisconsin DNR has an issue with being organized. You’ll find that signage and websites do not always line up.
When we set the WGA SPS series up, the lead naturalist for the state passed us a list of what was the “official” list of State Parks which is what we based our caches on.I do not really understand the difficulties they have had on making these universally marked but there still looks to be an issue.
Capital Springs is another property that seems to be in limbo. The DNR website lists it as a State Park but the old faded sign there is the only designation as a SP. Capital Springs is also listed as a State Rec area. When I asked about that one, the state told me it was just a rec area so why list it as a SP? Good question.
Lot Dauphin just outside DePere is another Property. Listed as a SP, giant rock is etched as a SP, owned and operated by the Town of Lawrence.
AS long as it isn’t a SNA and the property staff has no issues with placement, then a cache can be placed there.Hope this helps. If not, let me know.

I find reading every log for the State Parks to be very rewarding. I really like watching the adventures everyone has.

Hmmmm I’ve been to all the state parks back in the 2002-2004 years when I geocached.. are there special caches to find in each park now for this? Would love another reason to visit them all again..

IN addition tot he bookmark list we have a section of the website dedicated specifically to the series. Hope you can partake in it.
