Todd- when I have been working on a cache and another hits up the same area, the reviewers send out a nice email asking me to either publish or archive as another would like the location. I ended up archiving my unpublished cache.

Date of publication not date of submission. Is that what you all think, to? There’s a puzzle master who is seldom seen in these parts up here but has several spots “saved” and when they publish, it’s not uncommon to see a date 1-2 yrs different.

I think Deejay and Labrat have always ran the adminstrative side where if they were found the same day, the double points or revisits got the points. I don’t see the big deal with the way points are being awarded.
I guess I don’t understand how more than one person could earn a cache rescue points being given. How can more than 1 person rescue a container…but again, that is my unofficial feeling.
If it isn’t being abused then let it roll. It is fun and by awarding only double points, etc to the 1st ones, there will be a new level of competition created that would threaten to take the game into a ultracompetitiv, no fun place. We are all supposed to play nice together in this game.
If there is a huge call for more competition then double or triple the number of caches in the PQ.

We are talking over contact people at the DNR. After we get talking with them, then the fun gets to start. We’ll definitely look forward to your help!

The Ice Age trail goes right through that area. Perfect for you guys to enjoy.
Looks like 5 are near Hartbrook park. Is the trail paved or gravel? Perfect stroller opportunities and a chance for you to work on your upper body strength when he needs carried. Great way to get in shape for those high Terrain caches.

Ralph- we did get it and I am right now reviewing and updating it a little and formulating an outline to move forward. You did a lot of great work on this.
Just starting to see if this program is still active in other states. Nothing like peer pressure to help get WI on board.

It would be nice to see the Wisconsin DNR get on board with this. The state parks that have many geocaches in them have seen increases in their numbers of visitors.
If the state doesn’t want to get involved, maybe the WGA can organize an effort to get geocaches in every park, even if they are put out and maintained by individual cachers. The WGA can set some kind of standards, and the costs can be covered either by the WGA or the cache hiders. The WGA can “own” the challenge.
We are in the planning stages and are working towards a standard and placements.
Good ideas and thanks for the sharing of ideas. I did PM dmnrec this morning with just a quick note to make contact.
Look for a list of State Parks and their Trailbosses in the near future.
We may not get to move as quickly as everyone would like but we are working on this and hope to see some physical results in the near future.

This would be a great “starter event” for anyone interested. Last year I helped out at a small event in Neenah. Jim had set up a small card table with some caches and WisconsinHibiscus hid a couple temp caches and brought along her fun book of adventures that she shared with many people.
When you are passionate about something, the sharing comes easily.
Let us know is you are interested and we can provide you with some brochures, etc.
Still time to volunteer. Thanks for helping out last year Ralph. We received a great letter of thanks for the effort you and comkelp put in.
