If I am elected to the WGA BOD, my expectations on myself would be that I would be at ALL WGA events and try to make as many other events as time, location and availablilty would allow me to be at.
My 1st event was the 1st WB Cache Bash in 2008. Since then I’ve been to 33 events (qualifying for the Social Butterfly Challenge Cache).
Should there be some reason I could not attend (most likely only due to a family commitment) I’d do like I am doing with the upcoming LCG Event on Feb 2nd. I’m cohosting with 2 others (1 lives 1hr away, another 2 hrs away) so I’m communicating through emails, keeping up with what work needs done and what progress is happening. We haven’t spoke in person yet but have almost completed all the planning just through email.
With the technology available, the BOD can “work together” from hundreds of miles apart to bring together what’s needed. It can be a challenge but staying flexible and wanting to work together is all you really need.

I live next door to my mother-inlaw. I know adversity and how to find “the happy place” in all situations.
True answer is: Flexibility.
Expect the unexpected and be ready to change, because that is the only thing that can be counted on. My 10 yrs as a volunteer youth leader for my church taught me that.

I’ve been kicking around an idea for highlighting areas for caching in the state but haven’t sat down to get started on it yet this month. When I get it going, I’ll be glad to share it.

I’ll be glad to copy and paste the articles to whatever social media sites you all would like. I’m extremely helpful like that.

A good place to also post a newsletter should we decide on one would be the WGA Facebook page. I know someone that is always looking for content.
Note everyone goes to the WGA site, not everyone reads emails and not everyone goes to the FB page but it sure catches the majority of the people.

I know I’ve had to back away a few times and return other times or just chalk it up to not being worth it.ed
Everyone needs to have an internal “Danger Meter” that they read to know when the risks are outweighing the benefits.
Part of the excitement is also about seeing how close to the “edge” we can get. For those special fun caches I take a buddy along or maintain 3 points of contact.

My family and I moved here to Neenah from Columbus, IN back in 1999.
I don’t qualify yet for the DeLorme Challenge but that is a goal of mine in the next few years to finish.
What impressed me most about WI, after moving here was all the different activities you could head out to do. I’ve snowshoed, canoed, biked, walked, run, and driven to lots of adventures.
My top favorites geocaching adventures took place canoeing down the Fox and Wolf rivers, climbing the cliffs of Door County and High Cliff parks and hitting those “hidden” historical spots along the Fox River during caching hikes. I don’t know if I can ever pick an all-time favorite but I do have Favorites list!
Here’s a map of where I’ve cached in WI:

Thanks TBC for this question.
For several years I was heavily involved with my church’s Your Group as a volunteer leader but after 10 years have slowly stepped away from it.
This past year I had offered last minute assistance to the Fall Picnic and my daughter was playing a soccer game the same day. I balanced that this year by driving down to the game separately from my family and after the game I stopped by the Fall Picnic to see if I could help.
I have always put whatever organization I was volunteering for 1st behind family and have always balanced it well. With a schedule laid out in advance for WGA activities, I’ll be planning my weekends around them and making sure I’m there to offer support.

I have been to 3 CITO events, 1 in each of the past 3 years in Appleton.
As a BOD member, attending CITOs would be a priority and depending on where they are, I would try and make 2-3 a yr dependent on when and where they are.

Another great job by the dynamic duo. Best log writers and humble cachers I know.

I’m in for some tweaking such as a removal or adjustment of monthly winners.
Also as my caching life/priorities have matured/changed and I find myself not getting my logs in as quickly as I used to.

These are great discussion points and I hope everyone will be interested in discussing rule these valid points at the end of the LCG event on Groundhog’s Day.
With my co-presenters, we were just 2 days ago discussing the topic of monthly winners and how that would fit into the presentation.
To all the BOD members, I appreciate all the volunteer work that goes into the site to keep things running smoothly. Sometimes I forget that this is just a “game” which is just a way to spend time being social and being in nature and there are more important real things that command our attention.
Please, if you cannot make the LCG Event, forward your concerns/questions/complements to the BOD members or as a last resort, you can send them to me, Janks15 or bif-n-sons and we’ll make sure we add them to the discussion.
