We’re in the group that likes the if it hadn’t been for a geo-cache, we would have never seen this place, on trips across the country we seek out caches by favorite points mostly, or oldest caches, seldom do caches that are in a CO’s yard, just doesn’t feel right, love the long hikes, especially J & L’s Room to Roam Series, have Team Northwoods caches on our radar for this spring, do some P & G’s just to satisfy our addiction. Currently working on the excellent State Park Series, and making a note of which ones are worth a re-visit, based on the quality of the hides.
As far as hiding, we like creating fun hides, with titles that have you guessing what your gonna find, other than a few where you know what your looking for ——–>! When we started hiding it was pill bottles, etc. but those are gradually getting archived, and we’re sticking to bike trails in the area.
Thanks for an interesting topic!
we placed a bug in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, a TB hotel, never logged once, but we’ve also done some with a specific mission, go from Wisconsin to Mund’s Park AZ, to be picked up by our daughter, with success, dropped one in Mexico, goal to come back to Wisconsin, got close but is now out in California, it’s basically expect them to disappear, but if they survive, it’s fun to watch their travels, also sending a thank you when someone moves your TB, sends positive thoughts to whomever dropped it. putting them in a hotel with a padlock is another good option, such as Rhinelander’s Ultimate TB Hotel. 🙄
Just got back from Eagle River area, had to do a few WCD caches, they are all awesome caches, failed at the Bank Heist, but the TB Hotel, Call Box, WCD’s 100th hide were all great.
Interesting question Jim, out of our 236 hides, 9 are traditional, 1 puzzle, perhaps the best part is looking at % wise, we find people favorite finding our most difficult caches, :arrow2: over 50% for one with 24 finds and 36 DNF’s. We tend to dole out favorites for difficult finds, as well as caches that make you actually do something to get a smiley, AKA Room To Roam, Expedition, and Wet Maze 3,000 :tux: is on our list for this year.
We kinda agree with CJ, geocaches are well hidden, out of sight, and don’t really bother anyone. Americans in our opinion are the biggest trash tossers on the highways that I know, and it’s visible for all to see.
As for our caches, the Bro will take care of them for us, if he can find them, ➡ ➡ ➡ and we’d do likewise for him, depends who gets the short straw!
Just went on our bucket list, married in 1999, it’s kind of sad. 🙁
Thanks for sharing this caching opportunity!
😀 Wi_pattymel will be partaking in the UP’s colors, waterfalls, Porkies, for the next ten days, thanks to some WGA members for recommended caches, starting at Taquamegon Falls and going West. 🙂
Must be the way individual computers are set up Jim, your not seeing things, if I put the mouse over earn, a degree search ad for online schools pops up, but we have that problem with most all logs, highlighted words, pop up ads. 😡
Wi_pattymel will contribute 1 month, 😆 how about July? Hopefully some others will pony up, perhaps at the meeting. Keep us in the loop! Don’t do that many, but it’s a fun game.
This is Wi_pattymel’s type of caching, 😆 nothing more grueling than the entire R 2 R Series 😛 , unfortunately work beckons Saturday evening!
WTG WR J Bug, met you once at the Theresa Marsh, hopefully our paths will cross again! 😀 😀
I’ll be on the Blue Ridge Parkway 😀 , thinking maybe you should take some of that gunpowder and blow up that rock wall by your Rolling Star hide. 😆 Then again it wouldn’t be sooo much fun!
Forget that idea, That was a great hide! 😉Have fun in the city!!!!
WTG Mr. G & Sunshine, going down to finish the Quilt Series myself in a few days!
WTG Sevencards, Congrats on #1,500, might have to check out Frankensteins Neckware if we get in the area! 😀
Find it amusing that this topic is in the new posts section, started my day out with a smile! 😆
