My goal is to be shot dead at the age of 87 by a jealous husband of a beautiful woman, while her and I share a hootie reward at a cache deep in the woods.
(Dont tell Robin.)

You may not have to wait until your 87 jackwagon, and me and the jealous husband would be fighting over who got the first shot. I only shoot to maim. 😉

Heh, heh. I’m just happy to see you didn’t lap me as badly as I expected… Robin must have had you on a pretty tight leash 😉 . Talk soon my friend, can’t wait to hear the stories.
No leashes involved – we just spent a good amount of time on the “scenic byways” (dirt roads, kind of) checking out the desert. It was fun, except for that one near death experience 😯 . I did give him a little grief about looking for caches in parking lot lampskirts when there where lots of great things to be seen and done. Overall it was a great trip – I liked the caching a lot more than the casinos (even with todays gas prices caching was cheaper than spending time at the casinos). Luckily we had exceptional weather with some nice breezes, cloud cover on most days and highs in the low 80’s. I would be glad to go back any time.
What I do is make my own tags using photo holder key chains. You can get them at a good price on e-bay.
I just had one that had been missing for 2 years turn up again Robin’s Spin Geocoin. It was a most pleasant surprise, but my third “missing” geocoin to turn back up this year.
I thought this was going to be like that game: Would you rather bushwack 0.5 miles through a mosquitoe infested swamp on a 90 degree day or would you rather look for a micro cache with bad coordinates somewhere in a grove of juniper bushes next to a busy road? 😉
Really all seasons have their good and bad points – most of which have already been expressed. I love fall the best myself.

Our site is a little ways away from the Wisconsin “section”. We’re at N220. We couldn’t find a spot near there and besides we heard that zuma! snores… 😮 🙂 😛
You won’t even hear it over the traffic (not much anyway) 😆
Mosquitoes have been bad in our area as well – even in town. They are nothing like deer flies though…………. When I was placing a cache in Dodge my son and I drove through the park, all of the way back into this field and stirred up some deer flies. We had the windows closed and had about 20 deer flies at each window following us at 10 mph! I said it doesn’t matter if I see the perfect beacon, there is no way I am getting out of this car. So when you go for that walk it really is the same 5 flies buzzing around you for the entire trip.
07/12/2008 at 6:04 am in reply to: Looking for outstanding can’t miss caches near Shawano, WI #1891887I went to Tennessee in June to help out a friend, but did attend an event while I was there and had a great time. The mountains are beautiful! An active forum for Southwest Virginia, Northeast Tennessee and Western North Carolina is Tri-Cities Geocachers. BigD740 organized the event I attended and offered to take me out caching. Unfortunately it didn’t work out with my schedule. I guess he likes to make some great cache containers. I would suggest posting on the forums about a month before your trip, or attending an area event if you have the chance. I felt very welcome at the event I attended. It was at Breaks Interstate Park, great area to cache in a just a beautiful area to visit. If you are looking for a cache dense area the Tri-Cities area is the place. Here is a quote from their home page:
The Tri-Cities Geocachers group is proud it say we have over 1700 caches within a 30 mile radius of the Tri-Cities area (from cache waypoint GCNPAE). We are even more proud of the fact that we are very handicap cacher oriented. Of the 1700+ caches, 370+ are rated as a 1 terrain. Of these 370 caches, more than 215 are rated 1 terrain and 1 difficulty. We are diverse and happy to host disabled cachers. In the Tri-Cities, there is something for everyone. Come cache with us!

Didn’t I read on here that someone planned to have their ashes turned into a travel bug?
I don’t know about someone here in WI, but it has been done by other people. Some off these contine actual remains – others are just a hoax: OriginalLeslie , Uncle Bob’s Ashes , Uncle Elwyn , Paul Forbis and now for a little comic relief Papa Smurf’s Manhood – check out the pictures for a little chuckle.

I have a couple that I would bring. I have one that is supposed to passed around at events and the other according to the tag which fell off and I lost said it should be handed to someone in person not in a cache. I also don’t want to prelog them as I am unsure if I can attend or not. Is that cool? Any answers are greatly appreciated.
It would be a good idea to make an other tag to place in the coin flip with the coin that is to be given to an other cacher and not placed into a cache. Sometimes there are several TBs that get swapped at these events and the person you gave the coin to may not remember which one is not supposed to go into a cache.
If you happen to have a Garmin Nuvi for in car navigation you can skip the palm all together. I went to an event in Tennessee and someone there showed me this program and it works with Vista. It loads the cache pages directly onto your Nuvi. Here is the website that explains how to do it. It took me about 30 minutes to load all of the programs on my laptop and get the actual info onto my Nuvi. Now that the programs are on there it only takes about 2 minutes to load it all in. It was great timing for me because my Palm decided to die while I was gone. I would suggest that anyone who has a Nuvi check this out: True Paperless Geocaching
