There will be a computer with internet access and printer available at the event for those people interested in downloading the forms for the Chippewa Valley CVB Geocaching promotion. We will also have the WGA “eggplant” available for downloading coordinates on to your GPSrs. A big Thanks to the WGA for use of the eggplant and to Ruth Holliday for helping me out!!
I will have some large heavy duty garbage bags and some small shopping type bags available. I figured the smaller ones might be easier to handle especially for kids.
Forest Preserves are gone……………… Sold out in 12 hours!!

Whoo Hoo – my first view of one of the actual CITO coins (on ebay of course – it takes mail a little longer to get to my house in the boonies). So here it is, I think it turned out great!!! The Chippewa Valley CITO event coins will be the same, except they are a limited edition silver – not sold at the Caching Place. The coin pictured is also sold out!! So if you want one of these beauties (or the Coins and Pins CITO coin – distribution will be random) come and do some CITO. 100 coins will be given away. Coins first will be distributed to people who post a will attend log for the Chippewa Valley CITO event and attend, remaining coins will be distributed after that to the first people who have not received a coin and do CITO on that day and bring it back to the event. You also will be able to log this event by participating in the “free choice” CITO portion of the event. April 14th also is International Cache In Trash Out Day – http://www.cacheintrashout.org/ . Hope to see you there!
Congratulations! The next 100 will go quicker – just come to the Chippewa Valley Geocaching Event and it will go really quick!!
Congrats on finding 1000! I would say that I would race you to 2K, but I have a feeling I wouldn’t stand a chance!!
Congrats on #100. It wasn’t that long ago and I was there. Zuma will be putting out your silver ammo can before you know it!
Congratulations guys!! Looks like you are going to beat me to it. I will get it done sometime………………… Hope you are enjoying your vacation!!
Since I had to come up with “alternative” funding for the CITO coins I approached 2 different coin manufacturers about helping me out. Now I will have 2 kinds of CITO coins to give away! 😀 Here is a picture of the first one. It’s from “The Caching Place”. They are also making the Chippewa Valley Geocaching event coins. The little picture at the top is the coins icon. These coins are also availabe for purchase at The Caching Place. Or you can get your free limited edition coins by attending the CITO event!!

Thanks Georgia and crew!!03/20/2007 at 4:12 am in reply to: What is the strangest thing you have seen while Geocaching? #1871770I think I have seen a few strange things geocaching (some of the Posen hides I have found would qualify 😆 ). The strangest I think was near Rosemont. I was caching with Zuma, Jesse and my 10 year old son. We where looking for a cache, that ended up being frozen under the ice, and found this box. The box had an open top and had little colored paper flags all around the top of it. In the box was a dead chicken with a string around it’s neck, a womans shirt, some candy wrappers and a pen and some paper (no, we did not sign it just in case it was the log book). Strange thing to find in a very urban park area. I think it was that day also we found a large, fresh hole in the ice near a cache (we went on the ice near there and found the cache anyway – we just stayed as close to shore as possible!) Other strange, but no so strange things that I can remember right now have been full animal skeletons and a wrecked car in the middle of the woods. Oh yeah, we also found what looked like a hobo camp in the woods, more than once. Stranger still a “vibrating personal entertainment device” out in the woods. What it was doing there, I don’t even want to imagine! You never know what you will find geocaching!
Thanks for all the nice thoughts everyone! It’s amazing that it took me this long to reach 1000 caches considering the very first “date” I went on with Ralph (otherwise known as Zuma), we went geocaching (Now if you know him, you really can’t be surprised 😉 ). Our “dates” still mainly consist of at least a little bit of geocaching when I am able to sneak away from my work and family obligations. Trust me, I am not complaining! When first met I told him I didn’t think it would work for us to go out, our lives where just too different. But geocaching sounds interesting. You could take me out geocaching sometime………… It’s worked out well and I guess different is good, at least this time it turned out to be! 😀 Thanks to Zuma for placing my “1000th cache” cache. It was published tonight and I hope to find it tomorrow with my 5 year old son. I have found some interesting caches, but what has made my best memories have been the people, the places and the journey. I hope finding the next 1000 caches is as much fun as finding the last 1000 has been!!
Better late than never……. Here’s the Zuma and Jesse Top 40 Geocoin. I am trading for any other unactivated, trackable geocoin. If you would like a coin, but don’t have anything to trade, send me a PM and we can work something out.

Boy, he can’t even get my e-mail right – I might as well forget about my birthday! 😆 You can contact me at [email protected], or send me a PM here. I would like to trade for other trackable geocoins that you will probably find soon in a cache near you. I will post a picture of the coin tomorrow.
Yes, there will be CITO coins. They won’t be Chippewa Valley specific, but they will CITO coins, trackable with an icon…….. there’s more than one way to get the job done 😀 ! I will post art when all of the details are confirmed.
Here is a preview to the coin that will be given out at the final event.

and the back – it will not look exactly like this, it will be plain metal 3D image. The picture is of Big Falls with some “wildlife” photoshopped in.

The micro coin for the CITO event will be similar to the one posted on the event page, but there will be a few changes. When a final design is worked out I will post it. Both coins will be trackable on geocaching.com and have their own icons. I hope you enjoy them!!
