Nah.. just spin around 10 times really fast and you will be disoriented… Or just hold a GPSr. That makes you spin too.

I’m leaving my son’s cub scout meeting…. There’s a car in the parking lot I noticed at the last meeting with an oval “GEO” sticker on the bumper. I thought, wow, someone else here geocaches!!! I’m gonna have to find out who that is! Well, tonight, off drives the car and I wave….And off goes the lightbulb lololol!!!!! It’s WISearchers!!! (And yes, I’m one of those that doesn’t always get jokes on the first time around either….)
So now at the next meeting, I’ll actually say hi again, lol!

Too funny! When we met the other day, I thought you looked familiar but it’s one of those things that when you see someone “out of context” or not when/where you expect them, it just doesn’t click.
Now at the next meeting I’ll be able to recognize you in two places at least.

(GEO bumber sticker on a GEO Prism, I’m sooo clever!
Congrats! Not only do you find time to find caches, but you also do such a great job placing them…we have had a great time hunting your caches! (This is not even mentioning all of the ground work that you have done advocating for geocaching!!!) You are an inspiration!

WISearchersGuess who was one of the people I voted for? I made her kiss me before I clicked her name. Kinda like that Geico commercial where the guy is clicking his wife on and off the policy online… (FUNNY, NOT FUNNY, FUNNY, NOT FUNNY)

Hi Caimeg:
Welcome back.. my leg of the multracache is still in place! at least it was this fall.. I’m 99% sure it’s there.

Ken, you should take your comment as a compliment as I learned everything I know from you and WZBT03(et al) and your work with the Parks and Rec people…you both showed us all how it can be done…I simply am following suit…
oh, and as far as the election goes…they say that timing is everything…although I started working on this in the Madison area well before I was nominated (which was a total surprise)the timing sure was serendipidous…regardless of the result of the vote I will continue this as it is a passion of mine…I have found that once I got going that it just felt right…and hopefully it will encourage others to try it in their areas.

Ms. WIsearcherWow, congratulations to you all! It’s great to have so many people in this activity who are as into this as we are!

We were fortunate enough to see it at the event cache this morning…we are jealous…it looked awesome….congrats T&B…now if you had offered to let Rhonda use it today she just might have pulled you up that hill…hehehehe. Enjoy!!!
I feel that this is a great set of questions, and the answers to much of this post were touched upon in my bio, but I am more than happy to expound here.
The goals that I would like the WGA to pursue within the next 6-12 months would be to systematically work to set up communication with local and state land management groups (DNR included of course) to educate them in what geocaching is really all about. I have found most recently in my dealings with local gov’t workers that they have an idea about what geocaching is, but most of them have many misconceptions about what it really is…and that is where reluctancy to allow geocaching in areas interferes with our activities. Short term I will continue to work with the local areas surrounding Madison and hope to lift the current ban against geocaching in city parks. Longterm (This touches on the 3-year goal)I would hope to work with the WGA board as a team member collaboratively working with land management agencies. There is a lot of work to do in this regard-it will take the entire board as well as general membership…this is a huge initiative which could include many different facets (advocation with state agencies, making a unified information packet, participate in statewide presentations, production of the inforamation video which is currently on hold, among many others which could be brainstormed in committee)…all of which I look forward to being a part of. There has been groundwork done in this area, and I would first become appraised of what has been started and then make a plan of action from there.
Even though I feel the current board has done a fabulous job (and I mean that sincerely), I feel that there is always room for improvement and one change I would recommend is that members are informed of all of the initiatives that the board is pursuing…they are doing amazing things that will potentially affect our future of this activity, and wouldn’t it be exciting to know this. I am not sure of the best way of communicating this…potentially through a thread on this board or a link for minutes…this could be determined by the group, but I do feel that it is imoportant to be educated in the workings of our elected board.
Lastly, but certainly not most importantly, on a fun note…I would enjoy helping to plan and organize upcoming WGA events. It was such an awesome opportunity to volunteer in the cache placement at our picnic at Devil’s Lake. It made me feel as though I was a part of something powerful. We have such amazing diversity in our membership…and everyone is accepted…that was incredible…so of course the social butterfly side me looks forward to helping to make more of the WGA Events continued successes.
Thanks for this opportunity to share!

Hi Becky,
Be sure to come to the event cache, “Caching through the snow” you can search for it on the “hide and seek” page with the GC#: GCHD8F.
We’d love to help you out and you’ll also meet some cool people who have been doing this a while, and probably some people that are starting out as well.
Check out the discussion at http://wi-geocaching.com/forums/Forum1/HTML/000382.html as well.
Also, there is another event cache in SE Wisconsin, probably not too far away from you! I can’t get in to http://www.geocaching.com now. Will someone post the Metro Milwaukee event cache?
Congrats Jeff!!! Way to go! Oh, are you sure you really want a girlfriend? She might take up quality geocaching time…now to find a geocaching girlfriend…that would be cool!!! Happy caching…
WISearchers-
T&RWhen we did his Nature Hill Odyssey last fall, we couldn’t find the “Doc” and he replaced it, but it took him a couple weeks because he apparently travels quite a bit! We were happy he made time to do it. It is a great 14 (FOURTEEN) stage multi.!!!
Anyway, We don’t know him personally, but have communicated via email, and he did sound like quite the busy guy!
