Just bought City Select but havent’ played with it yet. New 60CS should be here Wed.

In my opinion the Topo roads detail is pretty good, except that many are just named “road”. But if its the right “road” that’s all I ask for. I may not have it set to the highest detail–if it works the same way as when greyhounder turned her City Select to a higher detail.

DON’T look under the bed or in the closet; or behind the shower curtain for that matter.

There seems to be no distinct answer but:

One theory is that the phrase comes from the practice in certain British pubs of tallying a customer’s purchases on a blackboard behind the bar, with the notation “P” standing for “pints” and “Q” for quarts. If a customer failed to pay close attention and “mind his P’s and Q’s,” he might well find by evening’s end that the barkeep had padded his tab.

Lt.???? Seems everyone in this Platoon is gotten their stripes except for this Private. Of course Corporal Parts doesn’t have the same ring to it.

in reply to: WGA Campout – WGA Picnic “clinics” #1758485

True that the resources are already online, but sometimes people need to see it first hand. I’ve had a couple people ask me to “show” them because they couldn’t get it going.

The discussions at events are great but are fragmented, unscheduled and between only a few people at a time, all over a park. What I am suggesting is a scheduled clinic so people who want to learn or want to teach could come together.

So anyway, that’s all I’m saying is if you are not a book learner but a hands-on learner, a get together might be appropriate.

    in reply to: Locationless #1749456

    Another way…

If you are paperless, (Using a PDA) You can do a Pocket Query of just the locationless caches.

Then you can view them in the Palm or Pocket PC and Keep them handy for when you run into them. If you haven’t gone paperless yet, it’s worth learning. We used to have a filing cabinet in the car. For once the paper you lack, you’ll never go back. LOL

Now, if you are not going that route, you still would run a pocket query, Use Spinner or GSAK to create the HTML files, and then view them on your computer.

There is a “how to get paperless” website out there. You would only follow the part that got you to the HTML stage. Anybody have that website bookmarked? It is how I learned and quite easy to follow.

If you want, I can show you at the campout if you are going.

Ok, so maybe I SHOULD have drank the Kool-Aid that everyone else did, because obviously I’m very dense.
I guess I just don’t see the purpose and how you are paying the bills, unless you point is that you are working FOR Jeremy et. al. at Geocaching.com. In that instance, you bring up some great points and having a rating service is a great idea that has been tossed around before with no follow up.

But if you are just some freelancer who likes to write logs for entertainment value, I guess I’d rather make my own memory of the cache and chastise the “lame” cache in private.

Whatever floats your duck, dude. Have fun.
